Old Friend

Kaoz's POV

"Why are you looking down, dear friend?" Kudo said.

I teared up, "I'm sorry- I couldn't save you..." I managed to say.

"Well, you can't expect that out of anyone, nobody's perfect!" she smiled.

"What?"  I stopped sobbing.

"After all, my death was inevitable." she said.

After seeing the surprised look on my face, she continued on, "You knew that. I had to make that sacrifice or James and Corina would've..."

"Died." I finished her words.

"Anyway, let's put the past behind us." she tried to reassure me.

I nodded and asked, "Aren't you sad that you're dead though?"

"Well, who better to take my place than my sister?" she replied.

I chuckled at the thought.

"And look at yourself! Now she has someone who she can truly love!" she said.

I blushed, "Oh, now we're on the subject of lovers?" I questioned.

"Well, why not? You two are the perfect pair! She's the Light to your Darkness! You're the Yin to her Yang! She's a dove and you're a raven! The perfect balance!" 

Her logic was impeccable.

I laughed, and we talked more.

Asuki's POV

I woke up the next day, and went to the meeting room. We had an infinite amount of space to create rooms, because we're in the trees, and the meeting room was right under the canopy of the trees. We all filed in and prepared for planning.

"Alright, anyone got plans on how we're going to reclaim our home realm?" I said. Everyone shuffled in their seats. I sighed and closed my eyes. "We might need some help from the  government forces. What national armies are still out there?" I asked. John pulled up a map. He pointed at the 5 remaining nations still surviving. The others were taken over. "The only nations surviving are the 1 out of 6 continents, and this is the strongest branch of the National Union. They have the same army shared between them. They're located in the south polar region of this planet. We're currently located on the farthest point of Region W from their current position. "We're closer to the Northern Region than them..." Abe looked disappointed. I reassured him and said, "Chin up, Abe, we can do this!"

He nodded and smiled. 

We finally decided on a plan. "First, we take over this region, and barricade it all over before the reinforcements arrive. When they arrive, we fight them down, with 2 people assigned to each 1 of the 4 sides. The last 4 will eliminate the inner forces and reclaim the region. Any questions?" I ordered. No reply. "Alright, we start at dusk." I said. We filed out and headed towards our rooms to prepare.

I needed to be ready for this. I called out my 3 weapons. My first was my Shining Staff, then my Stardust Saber, and then my Shooting Star. Alliteration is the best thing when naming weapons, according to me. I made sure the edges were super sharp on the blade, then made sure the staff's core was properly shaped. I shined my Shooting Star and reloaded all its magazines, making sure to have extra.

As I finished looking over my weapons, I stood up and sighed. I stretched my arms left and right. 

15 minutes to dusk.

We walked in a field of grass, under a blue sky.

"Where are we?" I asked Kudo.
