I sat in my father's office, in one of the plush brown chairs placed in front of his desk. My hands held a slight tremor, and the hair on the back of my neck prickled. I could feel microscopic beads of sweat forming on my back, and I was hoping that he couldn't sense my fear and nervousness. He sat there on his computer, typing with only his pointer fingers, jabbing at the keys. I looked around the room, noticing for the first time that everything in here was dark. Wood paneling cover the walls, darkly stained an earthy brown almost black color. Then floor to ceiling bookshelves were the same color. The small sofa was a dark leather, and in front of it was a dark coffee table. The room was just dark. No windows, only a couple of lamps to create some sort of light. If I hadn't basically grown up in the office, it'd be seen as ominous.
"What's up, pumpkin?" My dad asked me in a cheerful voice, giving me a smile which was meant for only my mother and I. He leaned back in his chair, and kicked his feet up on the desk, he looked completely carefree. His white button up was rolled to his elbow, the top button popped open. He had dress slacks on, but he also took off his dress shoes I know my mother made him wear, because his bacon socks stood out on top of the mahogany desk. He had a lazy smile on his face, the green eye I inherited sparkling.
"You called me up here, Dad." I chuckled nervously, rubbing my sweaty palms together.
"Oh! That's right!" He said, taking his feet off the chair and leaning forward. "I wanted to talk to you before your mother and I left. We have a meeting with another pack to attend, requiring us to travel." I nodded at him, and felt myself swallow hard. "We haven't talked much since your birthday, honey, and I wanted to see how you were handling it."
"Well, my wolf has been very quiet. And I haven't felt the urge to shift again since the night of my birthday." I told him, and to be one hundred percent honest I didn't even know what day it was.
"You should go on a run, it's not healthy for your wolf to be cooped up. I'll schedule a pack run for tonight. I don't want you going out on your own yet, not until you start your training."
I went to speak, until there was a knock on the door, and my father's whole aura changed.
"Come in." His voice went from cheerful to monotone, angry even. A man and a woman entered my father's office, and I could immediately sense their fear. The man had a large scar on the side his neck, a healed brand. The same scar was on the girl's upper arm, though part of it was hidden by her sleeve. They were omegas. I looked down at my feet, thinking about Levi.
"Alpha, we have brought you the ties the Luna picked out for you, sir." The man said, with an assortment of ties that hung on his forearm. The women has ties on her arm as well. My dad grunted at them, glancing at the ties, before choosing three. He took them roughly from the omegas.
"A-Also, Alpha, the Luna requested the y-you picked a few extra, sir. Just incase you need to switch one out." The women said, casting her eyes down to the ties.
"Are you implying that I am a slob, Christine?" My father hissed, and the woman started to shake in fear. The man looked as if he wanted to step in front of her, but that would only make things worse.
"N-no, no, no. Of course not Alpha, sir, I was just passing the message on from the Luna. It wasn't my intention to insult you, sir, I'm so sorry." The woman, Christine, said almost crying. My father took a menacing step towards her and that was when I stood.
