Prologue - 18 years ago

"Andrea, please reconsider. Don't make a foolish mistake!"

Andrea continued to pack her things, ignoring her mother. She wasn't going to listen to her mothers words anymore. If she would have just ignored them from the beginning she wouldn't be in this mess. She wouldn't have to deal with this thing inside of her.

A year ago her mother had introduced her to a Spanish man by the name of Santiago Fontanilla. He was good looking and not to mention filthy rich. But he was dangerous. According to rumors, he was involved with the mafia, but she didn't care. After their first date together, she really didn't care whether the rumors were true or not, to her Santiago was perfect. The way he carried himself was very attracting, and he always got what he wanted.

In the beginning he had voiced how he wanted Andrea, not for love, but for company. He said he wouldn't love again after his wife had died. Andrea knew that, he made sure she knew from the beginning, but she was 20 at the time and she didn't take his words seriously.

She believed that with time he would start to forget his past love and love her instead. But she was wrong. He never forgot that women. Even after 8 months of dating, he always thought of her and Andreas was getting sick of it. She wanted to be the only person he thought about. She wanted him to only love her. She even agreed to take care of the two other kids he had with that women.

But no. She wasn't good enough for him. Just 2 weeks ago she confronted him about how she felt, hoping to get him to realize that what he had in front of him was the only thing he should want. What she didn't expect was for him to tell her it was over between them. Something inside her clicked that day.

Much to her dismay, a week later she found out she was two months pregnant. She thought about telling him but she didn't. She wasn't going to. If he couldn't love her, than she didn't want the child to have his love either. She knew how much Santiago loved kids. He always talked about how he wanted to have more. She knew this would be a blow to him. As sick as it was, she found pleasure at the though of making him suffer.

Her mother tried to change her mind but failed. Andrea had already purchased tickets to the states and had found help in a old college friend who was an up and coming lawyer.

Now here she was packing her things. She knew it was only a matter of time before Santiago found out about her pregnancy. If her mothers frantic attitude told her anything it was that she was going to blabber the news to him soon. And even if her mother didn't go off and tell the world about her pregnancy, Santiago would find out one way or another, he always did.

But that didn't matter anymore. She had everything planned out. She would move to the states, change her name and begin a new life.

Grabbing her luggage she walked out of the room. Her mother had given up and left making sure to let her daughter know that she was crazy and foolish. As Andrea walked out of the house she smiled to herself.

"You don't love me Santiago. But that's okay because you will never know a thing about this baby. Not while I have anything to do about it."
