Tap. Tap. Tap. The keyboard clicks away beneath my finger. The sound is almost hypnotic. The screen is overly bright because is sometime around 1:00 in the morning. I have until 8:00 to finish. The heavenly sent of coffee fills the house. This has got to be my third cup. More is being made downstairs. My knuckles and wrists are killing me. I've been typing for hours nonstop. I'm almost finished. Just a few more hours. I scribble some notes son a near by paper. And take a sip of the coffee. It's cold. I sigh and lean back on my chair. Thr room is darker than I thought. Other than the small light the laptop emitted. I close my eyes for a split second. And I hear a knocking on the Door. I look at the clock. 1:58. It's way to late for a visitor. I grab my pistol from the drawer and place it in my back pocket and creep down the steps. Right in front of the steps is the main door. I unlock it and open it. I see a man. He had wide shoulders, wore faded jeans and a jacket. His hair was covered by a hat but his eyes shined the brightest blue. He smiles faintly with a crossbow in his hands. "I seem to have gotten lost in these woods. Is there anyway you can direct me out?" He says. His voice is soft but has a lot of masculinity to it. I stutter. "it's. Kinda hard to get out of the woods at night. You're in very deep sir. My knees start to tremble slightly. That's the anxiety kicking in. "it be best if you wait until morning. It's dangerous in these woods at night. There's a lot or drop offs and wild animals." I looks disappointed "I smell coffee" he says hiding his obvious guilt of asking "would you mind if I come in and have a cup. I've been walking around all day and am quite tired." I thought for a moment. I do have a loaded pistol in my back pocket in case something goes wrong. I sigh softly and smile "sure of course." I open the door wider and step aside. He walks in and looks around. "nice you have. It's a very well decorated home." He has a big smile on his face. As I lead him into the kitchen.
