(A/N) All of Elizabeth's thoughts well be in italics all through out the book.
Right when I entered my house, I was greeted by a very enthusiastic dog.
"Duke!" I exclaimed with glee. Duke bounded towards me. He jumped up and licked my face. I saw my mom walk out from the kitchen.
"Lizzie you're home." My mom stated with a grin. I pushed Duke off of me before I replied.
"Where's Breck and Jackson?" I asked her.
"Breck went home to shower and get ready, as did Jackson." She answered.
"Ok, I'm going to go change out of my work clothes. Do you want me to help with anything when I'm done?"
"That would be wonderful!" My mom exclaims with joy.
"Ok, I'll be back quick, just let me go change." I reply. I jog up the stairs and into my room, closing my door behind me. I change out of my work clothes, and put on yoga pants and a T-shirt. I walk back down stairs and head for the kitchen. As I walked into the kitchen, I noticed my mom was cooking my favorite meal, baked chicken and potatoes with cheesecake as dessert. Wooooohooooo I love my mom! I mentally cheered.
"Mom, what do you want me to help with?" I asked her. She jumped and turned around with a hand over her heart.
"Lizzie, What did I tell you about sneaking up on me?" She questioned with a playful glare.
"I didn't sneak it's not my fault you're going deaf." I joked while laughing.
"Are you calling me old?" My mom said while faking a gasp.
"What? Of course not mother dearest." I faked innocence.
"Haha very funny, little one." She retorted.
"So, what do you want me to help with?" I asked.
"Can you clean and set the table?" She replied.
"Sure." I responded, and started to go the chores she asked me to do. I hear the front door open. OMG it's Breck and Jackson! I rush to the door.
"Breck! Jackson!" I shout in excitement, while hugging them.
"You're 16 and you act like a child." Chortles jackson. Me a child? Pfft he's the child. I respond by sticking my tongue out at him. I love his and I's relationship, we get along really great. We have a very teasing, brother and sister relationship. Well I guess thats good since he's going to be my brother-in-law.
"Lizard! How was work?" Breck questions with enthusiasm.
"Good, at first it was kind of busy but then it was pretty dead, so Maggie let me off early."
"That's good, how much homework do you have this weekend?" Breck asks.
"Not much, I'll probably finish it tonight after dinner." I explain. Well after I get home from the party that's tonight. My kind of alter ego Maya laughs. Maya is what I call myself when I sneak out and go to college parties. When I turn into Maya, I become waay more confidant and a little flirtatious.
"Speaking of dinner, is the food ready? I'm starving!" Jackson groans. We all turn as we hear my mom laughing from the kitchen. She steps out and greets Breck and Jackson with an ear to ear grin.
"Yes, the food is done." My mom laughs.
"Woooohoooo!" Jackson exclaims while fist bumping the air. We all laugh at his antics and love for food. And he called me a child.
"You're 21 and act like a child." I mock using his words from before. Breck, jackson, and I head into dining room and sit down. Mom soon brings out the food and we all help ourselves to an amazing meal. While everyone is chatting and eating, my mind drifts off to when I overheard Dakota and Jay talking. A bet really? That's kind of cliché. Why would Dakota want me to fall in love with Jay? Why would they think I would I fall in love with Jay? Will Jay start to court me on Monday? Should I act easily charmed by him? Should I play hard to get? Ugh all these questions and I have no answers, I mentally sigh.
"Liz? Is something wrong?" My mom asks me. I guess that wasn't just a mental sigh.
"Oh sorry, I was just thinking about school." I lie. Mom nods her head and everyone goes back to eating and talking.
"Mom? I'm done may I be excused? I have homework to do." I lie smoothly. No one knows about my more confident and flirtatious side, Maya. They also don't know about all the parties I've been to. They think I'm either sleeping or doing homework.
"Sure honey, just make sure you put your plate in the dishwasher." She replies. I do as she says and walk up the stairs, thinking about what I have to do to turn into Maya for the night. I go to my room and head into my ensuite bathroom. I take a shower and start my transformation into Maya. Maya started out as just an alias to get into college parties, but she's become more. She's the me I really am, she's nerdy, confident, and most of all she proves not all nerds are good girls. Elizabeth is the nerdy and said to be good girl. That's not really me, I am a nerd but I'm not a good girl. I'm constantly torn between showing everyone at school that I'm not a good girl and making sure that they never find out. I want them to stop calling me a good girl, a goody-two-shoes, or a teachers pet, but I also don't want them to think I'm a huge slut because I go to college parties. I only go to college parties because I don't want to get recognized by anyone from school. I really want to show them they're wrong but at the same time I kind of like living this almost double life.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
