It's already lunch time. Nasa same place kami ni Clarisse sa cafeteria. Kanina pa siya open ng open about the transferees. Turns out she knows them, perks of being an athlete.
"I still can't get over the feeling. Gosh!! Reo Rivera is studying here. At! Classmate pa natin. Seatmate mo pa!" Ewan ko ba't big deal sa kanya yon. I don't even care kahit katabi ko yung Rivera. Siguro ganon talag kakilala yon sa larangan ng sports.
"Naah.. I am interested on the girl."
"What? Bakit? Insecured ka? Don't be, you're prettier."
"No, not a little insecurity. Feeling ko threat siya sa akin. I still have to figure out why."
"Feeling mo lang yan. Katakutan mo si Reo, saksakan yon ng talino. Very competitive."
"Then I'll give him the game he wants." Well para saan pa't naging matalino ako.
"Tiwala naman ako sa talino mo, don't worry."
"Thanks."
I have to strengthen my walls and sharpen my mind. Now na may kakompitisyon ako. I won't let him.
After filling our tummies we went back to our classroom. Anim pa kaming andoon out of 25. Konti lang kami since it's a private school and a high rated one.
"Glory, you're brother just came here." Sabi sa akin ni Alliah, isa sa mga kaklase ko.
"Anong sabi?"
"Puntahan mo daw muna siya sa room nila."
"Is he joking? Ang layo kaya ng room nila." Singit ni Clarisse.
Medyo may kalayuan nga yung college campus. But duh!! Why do I have to go there? Pwede naman niya akong tawagan o etext. Bahala siya sa buhay niya. Hahaha!! (evil laugh)
"Thanks for informing me Alliah."
"NP."
Oh I forgot to tell na andito yung dalawang baguhan. Tahimik lang yung lalaki pero yung girl na sa tabi niya, in fact nasa upuan ko. Nagiinarte na parang bata. Territorial nga pala ako. Ayoko nang may pumipwesto sa territory ko. Pero dahil baguhan siya, I'll consider it.
The boy looked straight at me at parang sinignalan yung girl na nandito na ako.
She looked at me with an evil look tapos tumayo pero nakatingin pa rin at umalis na parang beauty queen.
Oh well, I don't care kung sino man siya o saan man siya galing. Nasa teritoryo namin siya ngayon so behave lang dapat.
I went to my seat and grabbed my laptop inside my bag and opened it. I was scanning it baka may email na from ate na nasa states. Sabi niya kase na kukunin niya ako. Masasayang lang daw talino ko dito sa school na to, which I think is not right. This school has taught me a lot. Dahil din sa school na to I went to various places here and outside the country. Di ko rin kase siya ma message basta-basta. Kompanya kase ang pinapatakbo niya doon. Her husband's company. Baka pagsinabi kong ayokong sumama sa kanya eh mastressed out ng bongga.
I felt like someone's watching me so nilingon ko yung katabi ko which is yung Reo.
"Privacy? Please." Sabi ko.
"Sorry." He said and looked away.
Nakakainis din to noh. Akala ko matalino.
"So you're the smartest here.." Bigla niyang open up.
"Dunno, maybe. We can't just conclude that. Kanya-kanya tayo ng mga gusto. People excelle on things they like." Sagot ko habang nakatuon pa rin sa laptop.
"Good point."
Then silence. I felt awkward at that moment.
"I heard na nanalo ka sa isang international competition sa Korea.."
I'm beginning to wonder ba't andami niyang tanong? Hindi naman sa nagfi-feeling ako ah, pero I think he knows me.
"Uh.. Yeah, ba't mo alam?"
"I just heard."
"Ahh.. I also heard about you. An athlete right?" Sabi ko pero nakafocus pa rin sa laptop.
"Yeah, basketball player at my former school."
"Oh." Tipid kong sagot.
"Yeah."
"Ba't kayo lumipat?" I asked out of curiosity. Why not right? Since nagopen up siya kanina. He started the conversation.
"Too personal to talk about."
"Okay."
I opened my social media accounts. Checking what's new. And still the same napaka-peaceful, private kase. I am not like the others na sobrang obsessed sa social media.
"Not friendly, eh?"
Here he is again.
"Uh.. Yeah." I said.
"Why?"
"Gusto ko lang."
"I see."
Then suddenly my phone vibrated. A text message from Clarrise na nasa first row, pangatlong seat.
Clarrise: Convo-convo pa kayo ahh.. May galit sa likuran XD
Anong ibig niyang sabihin?
Nasa front seat kase ako 2nd row.
Lumingon ako sa likuran at nakita ko kung sino yung ibig sabihin ni Clarisse.
Me: Bahala siya. Magalit siya kung gusto niya, wala naman akong motibo sa lalaking to. :)
Clarisse: Eh ba't may smiley? Hehe..
Me: >:( eto ba gusto mo?
Clarisse: Joke lang po yun.
Then di na ako nagreply. Nakakapagod makipagtext sa kanya andaming topic.
After a few minutes our class started. I had to focus more this time lalo na't may kalaban na ako.
