“Grace! Let her go now you pricks!” Mercy screamed in rage at the men carrying off her sister, but they ignored her as if she was none existent. Following the men down the stairs Mercy saw her parent’s bodies lying in a bloody mess on the floor. “Mercy don’t let them take me!” Grace begged while struggling to get free. Anger consumed Mercy as she watched her twin sister being dragged off; she knew she had to stop them, but how? An idea found its way into Mercy’s mind so she acted on it before thinking of the consequences it might have. She launched herself at one of the men, but he moved at unfathomable speed dodging her attack. “Cameron leave her we have what we need.” Another man stated, but the blonde she had attacked smirked with intrigue in his eyes. “Go on ahead; I like it when they fight back.” The one called Cameron stated as Mercy got to her feet.
Cameron circled Mercy like a shark would its prey and it made Mercy feel like a bug in comparison. A smile appeared on the man’s pale face as he took in her appearance, but now Mercy had a card trick she could play out on him. Seduction, just like any other he was flesh and blood and with the flesh comes the desire for another’s touch. “You picked the wrong person to fight with little girl.” Cameron announced as he backed Mercy up into a wall. “Please don’t hurt me, I’ll do anything I’m sorry.” Mercy told him and he tilted his head. “You’ll do anything?” He asked which she replied to with a nod making him smirk as he thought about it; she took advantage and grabbed his head twisting it until she heard the desired snapping of bone. Blonde boy dropped like a stone to the ground so Mercy wasted no time in running after her sister.
A black SUV was parked down the path and Mercy knew her sister would be inside it. She ripped the door open, reaching for her sister when she was pulled back and thrown onto the grass of her next door neighbour’s house. Cameron growled at her with fury in his eyes. “How is that possible?” Mercy asked herself making an evil smile form on Cameron’s face. “I’m a vampire bitch; we’re not easy to kill!” He answered then dropped down straddling her waist. “I would have let you live, a human with your potential would have been nice to keep in my bed, but since you pulled that little stunt I want to kill you.” He whispered as he dragged a finger across her chest then fangs slid out from his mouth. “You know I’m not keen on blonde girls, but your sister will have to do; you see I like dark haired girls with spirit in them, but you are animalistic like the werewolves we kill.” He explained then tore into Mercy’s neck with a vengeance. “Mercy!” Grace screamed in pain, but Mercy couldn’t move; her head felt like a busy city was screaming and her limbs were too heavy to lift. “No Mercy, you promised me you said we’d be together forever; Mercy!” She seemed desperate, but Mercy was gone.
Four months later…
“Her condition is better, but she may suffer from memory loss. She won’t know what’s going on out there.” A woman with a professional voice narrated while Mercy came around. “So she won’t know who I am or who she is? How long will that last for because we only have a few months before the leeches make their final move.” This second voice was male and Mercy knew it, but she couldn’t think of who the person was. “It may be permanent sir; the severe blood loss she retained caused damage to the neurons in her brain.” The woman said in a grim voice and Mercy sat up looking around at a big white room with two people stood near the door. “Where am I?” She wondered glancing at the people stood by the door.
A woman with long brown hair, tied up in a tight ponytail, crossed the room to Mercy’s side; her complexion was flawless tan with a heart stopping smile that probably had the men tripping over themselves for. “My name is Sharon; do you know your name?” Sharon gently turned Mercy’s head from side to side. “Yes my name is…Grace; no wait…my name is Mercy?” Mercy frowned not quite sure if she gave them the right answer, but from the smile on the woman’s face it was correct. “Okay Mercy I just need to check your heart and blood pressure okay?” Mercy nodded in answer while she tried to remember something, something very important that was just out of Mercy’s reach. “Mercy do you know who I am?” A tall man with blonde hair, shimmering hazel eyes and a tan to kill for asked Mercy, who just stared at him in awe, as he approached her. “No, but I think I’d like to.” Mercy stated as Sharon wrapped a band around her arm and pressed it so it tightened.
