We start the series with Castle Of Hearts, with Sulpicia being in the original way as the wiki describes. Human and an orphan.

But the wiki never described too much about her, with her being Aro's wife I feel she should have had more of a description to her. I came up with the idea of her being in Volterra, since Aro and the rest of the Volturi's creators (Caius and Athenodora) were from Greece.

I felt that, Aro needed a better reason to want to relocate to Volterra, Italy, so Sulpicia would be that reason (yes, not really a spoiler but alerting it to you guys lol!).

Sulpicia is young here but not too young, orphaned and in a unhappy home with the caretakers of Adelie and Aldo. With a few "siblings" but whom slowly fade out into the story by either death or by leaving to another family.

She meets Aro in the market, to not make herself seem so desperate she doesn't offer most of herself to him as a desperate village girl, which he likes and admires even though he sees she is desperate, but a different kind of desperate.

Throughout chapter one, we see their connection begin and each character develop.

Sulpicia sees herself as a person who deserves to be in royalty, not someone who's having to work hard everyday to live on.

She's innocent and yet not, and has qualities like Aro that he becomes attracted to. And it only intensifies throughout the story.

I picked Natalie Dormer to portray her, mostly because of how I pictured Aro's wife to look, and how Natalie Dormer's skills are as an actress. Everytime I saw her in The Tudors with her role as Anne Boleyn, I thought of how Sulpicia would be, and it fit too perfectly. So to that notion, Sulpicia is written as Natalie Dormer plays Anne in The Tudors.

I will be trying to update about Sulpicia regularly, if there is any questions please let me know, thank you!
