Breath in.

Breath out.

Breath in.

And now breath out.

Simple. Com'on Kass, get yourself together.

Breath in.

Breath out.

Well... I don't look horrible. My long dark hair is down for once. It hangs around my face slenderly. I'm wearing a knee-length white dress. The make-up that my mom did is simple. I can't even tell I'm wearing it, but it makes my face glow.

Daddy said I looked beautiful.

I hope he's right.

That's when there's a knock on the door. Ok, ok. So at this point you probably see this as your average clichè dance-thingy. But you see, I kicked my parents out of the house as soon as Mom did my make-up.

So, you know, I'm here by myself. Oh, and we're walking to the dance because the place they're holding it is a block away from my house.

Breath in.

Breath out.

I open the door slowly.

Holy skittles.

Ok, ok. I thought he was sexy anyway. But he's even more sexy in a tux.

Ooooh boy, the things I could- Kassandra!

Jake smiles at me hesitantly. "You look amazing..." He trails off. I blush a deep red.

I grab my weird itty-bitty purse ouch thingy and lock the door behind me.

And we skip off into the sunset.

Hahaha. Yeah right.

We start walking in a comfortable silence. I catch Jake throwing glances at me every now and then.

About two more minutes of his starring, and I can't take it no more. "Ughh. Why do you keep looking at me like that!"

He chuckles before tickling the crap out of me. My screams and laughter bounce off building walls and people turn to look at us. When the tickling finally stops, I realize we are in front of the building.

I stick my tounge out at Jake playfully. He grins happily and joins my arm to lead me into the place. We skip like we jumped right out of the screen while some poor kid was watching The Wizard of Oz.

The place is really set up beautifully. I now see what everyone talks about. There are large glittering fake snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, and the white smoothly tiled floors give a snow effect. There's fake snow dolloped around baseboards and corners. The music is simple, easy. People stand conversating. On the left side is the large dance floor, and on the right is some tables with glittering table cloths.

Jake smiles sincerely at me and leads me to a table. I watch people begin to dance and spin under the sparking snowflakes.

"You're quiet tonight," Jake comments. I look up at his slightly worried face. "Well.. I got that text again last night," I admit quietly.

Jake just looks down defeated. I reach out and touch his hand gently. He takes my hand in both of his and stares off into the crowd. "Would you like to dance?"

I wince. I'm not really the dancing person. Jake grins at me and stands. "Com'on. I'll do all the work, I promise," he says as he pulls me out of my seat.

Please don't let me trip.

Jake leads me to a spot without many people and puts his hands on my waist gently. Oh wait. I don't know how to dance. Crap.
