This is pre written as I am currently not home and don't have access to a computer. :-) Enjoy. I've had this chapter planned out since before I started writing this story and I am very excited.

November 2008

Majority of the people who said they were coming to my party already showed up. Everyone was already having a good time playing some arcade games and snacking on chips and popcorn. My party had only been going on for an hour and it was already a success. I couldn't be more happier, Calum and I did a good job with planning.

I had a mountain of presents already, another plus to inviting a lot of people. No one had showed up within the last twenty or so minutes so I figured this was all going to show. My best friends, Calum of course, Amy, David, Will and Genevieve were here and that's all that mattered. Brooklyn, however, didn't show up, but I wasn't sure if she was going to because she said she wasn't sure.

I made my way over to my dad who was sitting talking to Mr. Hood who had come to help out. My dad saw me and sat up straight, smiling at me.

"How's your party going, Luke?" He asked me.

"Good, I think that's everyone now, we can start our game of laser tag," I said to him.

My dad's eyes moved from me to the door. "Are you sure that's everyone?" He asked, pointing to the door.

I turned around and my eyes met Brooklyn's. I smiled wide and hurried to the door to greet her.

"Happy late birthday," she grinned, handing me a small box. "I'm sorry I'm late, I didn't know how long it would take me to walk here, and I guess I thought it would take a lot less time."

"You walked? That's extremely far," I asked, shocked.

Brooklyn nodded. "It's fine."

I nodded, moving on from the subject and headed to the table of presents. I put down the box and turned back to Brooklyn, noticing her face full of worry as she looked at the big presents on the table.

"Have you ever played laser tag?" I asked her, causing her to look at me. She shook her head.

Just in time, a worker called everyone over to the laser tag area. I walked with Brooklyn over there and the worker explained the rules to us. We all put in our names and got shuffled into team. After, we all got on our equipment and the game began.

I ran to the back of the arena and into the small building and hid. I heard someone heading my way and instantly got nervous. They came into the building and I instantly relaxed, seeing their colour was the same as mine and they were on my team. It was dark, though, and I couldn't see who it was until they got a bit closer.

"Calum!" I whisper yelled.

Calum let out a breath. "Luke, you scared me!"

I chuckled and stood up. "We're on the same team!"

We high fived quickly before I turned to look out a small window in the building and shot someone, getting them out of the game for a moment. I took the time to run off and around the arena, pausing at every wall. I turned a corner and noticed a figure. I squinted my eyes and didn't shoot, realizing they were on my team.

I walked forward, it was Brooklyn. She didn't look to be playing, she was more of sitting with her knees to her chest, just trying to hide and not ready to move.

"Brooke?" I asked, she looked up. "What's wrong?"

"I'm scared," She admitted. "And I suck."

I held out my hand. "Come here, I'll help you, just stick with me."
