I sat on the Hogwarts Express alone on the last carriage on the train. I wasn't surprised. Looking out of the window I was met by mine and the carriages reflection.
The person in the reflection stared back at me, long straight silver hair reaching halfway down my back. The girl had piercing light blue eyes. But the thing that stood out the most was the scar of a bite on my cheek and neck.
I shivered and looked away remembering how that scar came to be.
Rain pelted down in the city as I hurried back to my house. I took a short cut through a back road.
Growling stopped me in my tracks.
"Hello? Who's there?" I asked scared.
There were no answer.
I turned around and hurried away only to be knocked on the floor.
Rolling on my stomach I screamed when I saw this creature growling in my face.
It bit my face before a wizard managed to come to my rescue.
Excuse me, can I come in here?" A voice asked.
I looked up and saw a girl with ginger hair and green eyes at the door.
I nodded my head. "Of course, come right in."
The girl smiled in relief and came in with her trunk. "Its such a relief to be somewhere quiet, it's very noisy in the other compartments."
I chuckled. "I can imagine."
The girl sat by the window opposite me. Looking at me I noticed she was looking slightly down, below eye contact and I knew she was looking at my scar.
The girl glanced up and saw me looking at what she was doing.
"Sorry." she apologized.
"Its alright." I told her. Everyone does it when they first meet me. I added silently.
We sat in silence for a while. The girl fiddled with a strand of hair while I looked out the window.
"Faith." She said out of the blue.
"Uh?" I said looking at her.
"My name's Faith Everbee." The girl told me holding out her hand.
"Brooke Willows." I smiled and shook her hand.
"I hope I'm in a good house." Faith said grinning. "I don't think I could bear to be in Slytherin though." Faith shivered and lent forward. "Apparently that's where You Know Who was in."
We both shivered in unison.
I remembered five years ago when He Who Shall Not Be Named was defeated by the baby Harry Potter. That was one of the best days of my life. If I ever met him I'd, well, I don't know what I would do to thank him. Actually, what could I do? I will have to think about that a bit more.
Another knock on the door and this time a boy came in.
"Hey sis. Been looking all over for you." A boy grinned and sat by Faith.
Faith looked angrily at the boy.
"Milo. You can't just walk into compartment without asking!" She shifted away from her brother.
The boy shrugged. "Looks like I just did."
Now the boy was sitting near me I noticed he too had ginger hair, though it looked like it needed a hair cut it was actually quite neat, for a boy.
"Brooke, this is my twin Milo, Milo, this is Brooke." Faith introduced each other.
Milo lent closer. "Dalm girl, that's one big ass scar you got there. How'd you get that?" He asked me.
Faith smacked her brother round his face. "You don't just ask that! Work more on being sensitive."
Milo rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry sis." He said.
I smiled. "Its alright. I got bitten by a werewolf." I said shrugging.
Faith's eyes widened. I was used to this. Most people reacted like that.
"Now you mention it, your teeth do look a little more pointy then usual, full moon tomorrow night I hear." He said grinning.
"What!?" I inspected my teeth quickly in the reflection.
"Milo! What did I tell you? Wait till I tell mum!" Faith scolded.
"No!" I blurted out without thinking.
The siblings stopped quarreling to look at me in surprise.
"I'm a werewolf, at a school. Your parents might freak out." I explained.
Faith sighed and slumped back. "You may have won this time Milo, but next time you'll get it."
"Course i will, you always say that." Milo smirked.
They squabbled the entire way to Hogwarts. I sat deep in thought though. My teeth were pointier than normal. They usually only did it the morning before I changed. That wasn't normal.
I'd got my letter to say I was accepted to Hogwarts like everyone else but when I did I wrote to Professor Dumbledore straight away saying I was a werewolf and that I couldn't attend. He'd written back within a couple days and said there was arrangements in place for my 'monthly change' as he called it.
The Hogwarts Express stopped and we all got off the train. I was thankful it was dark but I trembled when the moon came out from behind the clouds. As with the night before and after the urge to howl and be more, werewolfish was almost overwhelming, almost.
I was so absorbed in not snapping at anyone or yell or anything that I didn't take notice of where I was till we were in the Great Hall and the sorting hat had finished speaking.
Our names were called out one at a time and the hat either said Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Gryffindor.
"Willows Brooke." My name was called out.
I walked up to the sorting hat and sat down. The hat was placed on and the hat began to speak to its self.
"Humm, where to place you? You study hard, Ravenclaw, but your also loyal and brave so Gryffindor." The hat said.
"I'm more brave than anything else." I said thinking about my circumstances.
"Well, you'd betta be in GRYFFINDOR!!!!" The hat yelled and I made my way to the Gryffindor.
I heard whispers and I guessed it was because of my scar.
