*The person you are trying to reach is not able at the moment.
Please leave a message after the beep.*The first thing that can be heard from the line is a heavy sigh indicating an extreme feeling of regret.
Hey, it's me.I know it's been awhile since I last reached out to you, and I...
There's a small pause as the person on other line calculates what they want to express in this small, sincere message.
...Whatever I did to upset you, I'm absolutely sorry. I know that sorry won't cut it, but it's the only word I know that can make a difference.
Another heavy sigh.
Things happen. Life happens. And in that explanation, our small fights fit in. And you know what else fits in, forgiveness.
Another pause and then it sounds like they are holding back a violent, miserable sob.
The voice proceeds with a cracking whisper as they deliver the last bit of their message.
If you have the time, please...please call back.Love you.
B-
The message cuts off there and proceeds to be nothing, but bitter silence.
In the present, the receiver of the message is playing it over and over again as they walk up to a freshly buried grave and drop down to their knees.
With tears in their eyes, they put a single violet hyacinth on the ground, right on top of a pile of other flowers from other previous mourners.
Crying the receiver puts their head on the grave and whispers out.
I should have called you back...
But the only thing heard was the silence from the graves and echoing off the sobs of the receiver as they cry away their unforgiving loneliness.
×A/N: I know it's not the best, but oh well. This "story thing" was just something I wanted to practice and the song is <You by Keaton Henson> which has nothing to do with this. I just enjoy his song. -illy×
