Chapter 2--

Angel's POV

I woke up handcuffed to a bed. My left wrist was handcuffed to the bed post and that got me seeing red. I looked down and did a quick once over to make sure I hadn't lost any body parts.

I was still wearing my navy blue "Nerd and Proud" tee-shirt, boot cut blue jeans with faded knees, and black combat boots. My brown leather jacket was thrown over a couch in the room. I laid there for a moment contemplating my options. I remembered Luna once telling me that you could escape handcuffs by dislocating your wrist. I didn't really feel like doing that though. Then, I remembered that I had pulled my long hair into a pony-tail and pinned up my bangs earlier.

I reached up with my right hand and pulled one of the bobby-pins out, causing some of my bangs to fall into my face. I reached over and stuck the end into the handcuff key hole and started jiggling it. I had no idea what I was doing.

After about 5 minutes I heard a click and the handcuff opened. I stood and walked to the couch and picked up my jacket, rolling my left wrist. I walked over to the door and opened it, shrugging my jacket on.

"They left the door open!" I heard Luna say. Stepping out into the hallway, I saw her. She stood in front of the door directly across the hallway from me. I looked her up and down to make sure SHE hadn't lost any limbs. She still wore her Doctor Who shirt, the one with the 9th, 10th, and 11th Doctor's shirts, her black boot cut jeans, and black combat boots.

We both liked combat boots. Sue us.

"Did you pop your wrist out of place?" She asked me. I shook my head, my waist-length brown hair with it's blonde streak bouncing slightly.

"I did." She muttered and looked at me questioningly. I pulled another bobby pin out my hair, causing another large chunk of my bangs fall into my face, and held it up. She nodded once.

Her black hair that hit right at her shoulder looked a bit bed-ragged and her brown eyes conveyed her defiance. Her eyes met mine and I broke. This whole thing terrified me, yet she was the definition of calm. Suddenly, her eyes blazed with a new determination when she saw my tears gathering. She pulled me into a hug, surprising me because I HATED hugs. And Luna never hugged me because she knew of my distaste, but she also knew me better than anyone. She knew I needed comforting and that was her way of doing it.

"Don't cry, Angel. That's exactly what our kidnappers would want. Don't cave. We have to be strong, alright Angle?" She said, using the nickname I was given when we were younger. She only ever used it when she got all protective and motherly. I always hated it when she did-she was only a little under 2 years older, me being a 16 year old junior and her being a 17 almost 18 year old senior. But, right now, I was glad for her calming protectiveness. I pulled away and nodded, forcing my tears away before they spilled. I hated crying. I probably hated it more than anything else. It was a sign of weakness and I refused to show others my weakness. Not after Ace...

"We should find a way out of here." Luna said, thankfully interrupting my train of thought. That was a dark road that I didn't want to travel down again. I nodded once more, a new wave of determination coming over me. "Maybe if we wander around for a bit we can find a way out..." Luna started, but I cut her off.

"That's way too risky. We could get REALLY lost, we could run into our captors, or anyone else. Who knows where we are. We could wander into a medieval torture chamber or a cannibal's kitchen!" I said, causing Luna to laugh. I smiled, glad we could keep our humor in a situation like this.

That's when we heard the voices.

Luna shushed me, grabbing my wrist, listening to the sound. It sounded like 3 of them, male, coming up the stairs in front if us. I didn't notice the stairs before. We couldn't be on the first floor then.
