Day by day Koosa Kala felt a little more lost, she had no idea were these wight men were taking her. Her heart still moaned for the loss of Bootu. The ship felt like hell to her, it smelled of vomit and decaying body's, the only thing to eat on the ship was yams and Koosa Kala hated yams when she first arrived to the ship she would not eat so the men put something down her throat called a speculum orum ( The picture above) which was a tool they used to open the persons mouth and force feed them. Soon she just started eating them without force, everyone slept in little spaces with not much room.
One morning when Koosa Kala woke she turned to her side and right in her face was a dead woman, a woman Koosa Kala had learne who was very ill. She screamed and the crew came rushing down " what is it Clark ? " asked the man with the scruffy beard who Koosa Kala learned name was John. " A dead one, but don't worry she was to sick to be sold." They took her above deck and Koosa Kala never saw her again.
Koosa Kala was surprisingly the only kid, on the ship the pudgy man who's name was Mr.Brown would often come down to check on her, one day he took her above deck ( in chains ) she looked across the vast body of water " what do you think" he said to her. " it is amazing " " dear" he started " I want to teach you my language, English " " English?" She repeated " yes now repeat after me, hello."
Skip 5 weeks.

It had been about seven weeks since Koosa Kala was captured. She learned a bit of English, more than the other slaves had. Mr.Brown was very impressed on how fast she had picked up English. She could only do the basics but it was a big step. Some nights when the ship was tossing and turning and the people were getting sea sick and everything smelled awful Mr.brown would come down and take her to his quarters so she could rest in peace. ( Now I like to clarify He Is Not going to have sex with her she is only 6 years old, he is just the nice guy on the ship ) his room had a small bunk bed that was just right for Koosa Kala, a mahogany desk with carvings of little cherubs, but the thing she was most curious about was the small little chest it looked to be made of oak it had leather straps that bound it together, something seemed to almost glow in the box, whenever the lanterns light shined on the box a little glow would come out. One night Mr. Brown caught her staring at the box he smiled slightly " you are curious about my little box" he said causally his glasses started to slip down his nose " yes sir" she said eyes still locked on the box. " Would you like to see inside" he said with a smile on his face " really " excitement illuminated her face.he pulled out a little brass key he slid it in to the lock he turned the small key and opened the chest. Inside were a few small things. A few shirts and stuff but the thing that caught Koosa Kala's eye was a little necklace. It was a little golden heart no more than the size of Koosa Kala's finger nail, it had a lovely golden chain she looked at it in aw " it was my wife's " said Mr.Brown he chocked back tears " she died in a carriage accent." What happened ?" Koosa Kala asked " Mr.Brown sighed " it was August, we had diced to go for a picnic in the glen. We were having a nice time she was laughing I was laughing everything was perfect," he was chocking back tears his blue eyes filled with pain his eyes " the wind started to pick up, we ran back to the carriage laughing all the way we made it to the carriage and we left, the horses ran as fast as they could we laughed and talked, the ran had beat down on the carriage the thunder boomed the lightning flashed then she leaned close to me her black hair wet from the storm, her green eyes glistened her rose red lips close to mine then she told me she was pregnant, I smiled she smiled then the jack fell off the weal the carriage fell over, she fell out the window, broke her neck and died. That was it." Tears fell down his face, his face darkened, he looked like a boy who's dog ran away, his heart had a whole that nothing could fix.
Koosa Kala had never seen love like that, but she wished to. Her brother thought he found the one Lili but soon after he married her he new he should not have, he had said to Koosa Kala once " girls are like apple trees the bad ones are at the bottom but the best are at the top, more boys go to the bad apples cause it is easier and they won't fall, but some boys will go too the top and find a good apple and he is most rewarded, I was stupid and went for the bad apple." She could ember him saying that like it was yesterday, Mr. Brown picked up the golden heart necklace and handed it to Koosa Kala. " Here" he said " it deserves to be warn " she smiled a big toothy smile, he put it around her neck and they went to bed.
