Mark's POV

I couldn't stay in my room forever. I had to go to school. I got my backpack and raced through the front door, avoiding my parents.

. . .

When I got to school, everyone had already heard the news (as I told you in the last chapter), many crowding me to see if I had more information on his situation. I completely ignored them. I just wanted to see Jack.

I got to my locker and fumbled with the lock, trying to open it, but failing. I kicked my locker and sat with my back against it, my hands covering my face.

I looked to my left. A tall blonde man. Felix. I felt all my anger build up. I tried to keep it in. Felix was staring at me and smiling.

I sprung up and punched him in the face. "You fucking liar! You asshole!"

A crowd started forming around us.

"Do you seriously just fucking punch me?" He said as he shoved me at a locker.

"Wha-? You gonna cry?" He laughed at me and then left.

I ran straight to a bathroom and hid in a stall. I checked my phone. I had a message from Jack's mom.

Jack's mom: Hey, Mark. You doing okay? Jack's okay I guess. I mean he's no better, no worse, so.. yeah. I'll be with him all day if you wanted to stop by the hospital.

Mark: Okay. And im.. Uh I'm fine. I'll try and stop by. And I need to talk to you about Jack when I get there.

Jack's mom: Okay. See you later.

At least he wasn't getting worse, me, on the other hand, that was a different story.

. . .

I got to Jack's hospital room and sat next to his mom. I didn't say anything for a minute. I was staring at Jack's "lifeless" body.

"What did you want to talk to me about, Mark?" She put her hand on my shoulder.

"Uhm," My eyes began to water. "My parents, uh, they don't want me seeing Jack. They uh, think that he's a bad influence and they're against the whole being gay thing,"

She sighed. "Don't worry. I'll take care of it,"

. . .

Later that night, Jack's mom came over and talked to my parents. I was in my room listening. I could tell it wasn't a pleasant conversation, but my parents finally came through. They weren't happily accepting, they tolerated, which was fine by me.
