Mark's POV
I kept trying to find ways to distract myself, as Jack was still in surgery. I counted all the chairs in the waiting room, counted the tiles on the floor, anything.
I saw Jack's mom rushing in. I hugged her. She was crying quite a lot. "He's still in surgery. I'm so sorry,"
"It's not your fault,"
Just as I was about to say something, a doctor came out and motioned for us. We quickly got up. "You're Ms. Mcloughlin, and Mark Fischbach, correct?" We nodded.
"Follow me. I'll take you to Jack," His mother asked, "It's he okay, doctor?"
He didn't say anything until we got to his room."Ms. McLoughlin, Jack's surgery went well. He is doing fine, but, sadly, he was put into a coma. I will give you two some privacy,"
The doctor stepped out and I hugged his mother. We were both in tears. "I- I'm sorry, I gotta go. Uh, call me if you hear anything, or he wakes up. I'm sorry," I rushed out of the hospital to my car and started sobbing my eyes out.
. . .
It was Monday morning and my parents wouldn't let me stay home. Jack was still in a coma.
Everyone at school knew about it already. They kept asking me about him. I just kept my head down and walked the halls in silence.
My classes seemed to never end. I was in math and we had free work time. I heard two girls talking about Jack and I started to cry quietly.
I saw some kids look at me, but just ignored it.
. . .
After school, I went home to drop my back pack off, just as I was about to leave, my mother stopped me.
"Where are going?"
"I'm going to see Jack," I said emotionless.
"No you're not," She blocked the front door.
"Why won't you let me see my boyfriend?" I said angrily.
My mother slapped me across the face, hard. I feel to the ground and stayed there, not looking up at her. "No son of mine will be having boyfriends! Now go to your room!" She said in a firm voice.
I got off the ground, my hand on my cheek where she slapped me. I looked at her, said, "I hate you," and locked myself in my room.
