Chantel
These past few days are a bliss yet confusing. Damon pampered me and treat me like a queen.
Every morning, I woke up served with breakfast in bed. Pancakes drenched with butter and syrup, waffles, eggs and bacons, or french toast and hotdog. Along with a glass of fresh milk or juice. There's always a stem of yellow tulips in it.
He will greet me good morning and kiss my forehead. He will sit with me and talk about random things. He will sneak kisses randomly.
Before he went to work, he made sure to bid goodbye to me. And everything is ready like my breakfast.
He would come home early too. He then will cook dinner and after eating we will watch a movie and relax until it's time to sleep.
"Sweetheart, we're here" Damon's voice snap me out of my thoughts.
I look at him, frowning before looking around.
"When did we get here?" I asked since I didn't notice the had car stopped.
"We're here for about five minutes, you look deep in your thoughts, I don't want to disturb you but we might not get there on time if we stay here longer."
"Oh okay"
He got out of the car. I immediately unbuckled myself but before I can touch the door, it opened. He offered his hand and I took it without hesitation. He gave me a cheeky smile and peck my cheek. I returned a small smile to him and turn to look in front of us.
He brought me to a place that seems to be familiar. We're by the sea, a sea wall preventing the sea to go further to the land, benches a few feet from the sea wall and not to far are small restaurants. It's the place where we always hang out. It's our escape, our place.
"After all the years, this place didn't change" I nod to that. I can still remember how this place looks.
He tug my hand and walk to the place where we always seat when we're here. It's a bench under a tree.
He placed the basket that I didn't know he's holding to the bench. While he arranges the things he brought, I made my way to the tree.
I scan my hand to its trunk, it didn't took time to find what I was looking. Here still engraved to the tree are his name and my name inside a heart.
A big hand covered my small ones. "It's still there" he muttered.
"After all these years?" I add jokingly and he produced a manly chuckle that made my heart flutter.
"Look the sun's sinking"
He cocked his head to the picnic set and we walked towards the blanket he set up and sat down. He sat down, spread his legs and placed me in between. My back is pressed against his chest, his head in between my neck and shoulder, his breath fanning my cheeks, his arms encasing me. We watch the sun set until its completely gone.
Its a peaceful night. We talked about random things, reminiscing the past and settling things in between us.
Everything is settled between us, problems solved. I think, no, I know after this night everything will be okay.
