**Hey there People Who Are Reading This Story!! Sorry the first chapters were so short, but this chapter will be a little longer! Hopefully. Thanks, and I hope you are enjoying the story so far!**

Humans, despite their slow thinking and clumsy movements, were actually very enjoyable to be around. Mike had a fairly good sense of humor, (well, he did when he could get a coherent sentence out of his mouth) and he was helpful. He had introduced me to a couple of his friends, whose names were Jessica, Eric, Ben, and Angela. I especially liked Angela.

She was calm, tranquil, and seemed very sincere. Truly a kind, good person. If I had been human, we definitely would have been good friends.

Jessica was not as inviting. Gossip loving, vivacious, and dramatic, she was obviously and insanely jealous of me. Realizing that I had completely riveted the attention of the entire male population in the school, she questioned me extensively on my cosmetic usage. She certainly didn't seem to believe me when I told her I didn't have such things.

Eric and Ben were fine. They still looked a bit like  blind-but-they-could-now-see kind of thing. Other than that, I liked them.  They all did gaze at me strangely, however, when I said my name was Bella Swan. What was that about? I wondered.  When Mike and I had finally left and made our way to our lockers. I heard them muttering to each other indistinctly. Hey, they were on the other side of the freaking school! Of course I couldn't  hear them crystal clear, supernatural hearing or not.

I heard Jessica whisper impatiently, "-she not be related to them?" Ben answered her, but I couldn't make it out. Angela murmured something softly, and I heard the name "Cullen" mixed in somewhere. "Who are the Cullens?" I asked Mike curiously, wondering why I seemed to be associated them.

He looked uncomfortable for some reason. "Oh, they are just some kids who go to school here," He said lamely. I was irritated my his vague answer. Deciding to let the matter go for a while, I let  my mind begin to process what had happened in these last few hours.

I had finally, after many long, long years, mustered the courage to attempt a friendship. It was a wonderful feeling.  Oddly enough, this was the first time I had really interacted with the humans mush at all at a school. For a vampire, I am unusually controlled, and I can act human without too much trouble. Ever since I was changed, I had always been absolutely repulsed by the idea of killing someone and drinking their blood (no matter how inviting they might smell), so that didn't drive me crazy when I was near people.

I found out that by drinking animal blood, I could get by all right. I was never really satisfied, but I would take that over being a murderer. So, despite my enhanced hearing, superhuman speed and grace, amplified eyesight, and keen nose, I was able appear a normal being. Oh, add my ability to rip locker doors off their hinges with ease to my list of abnormalities.

"Dammit!", I yelped, quickly checking around if anyone else had witnessed it. Mike looked stunned, and his eyes were as round as coins as he saw me holding my bent locker door in my fist.

"Ohmigod! Did-- did you just do that?" He looked amazed.

"Uhh...", I quickly searched for a logical explanation. "I yanked too hard when I couldn't open it so... It must have had a broken hinge or something." I said, trying to pacify him. "Whoops! I have to go! Class is," I checked my watch hurriedly, "in like two minutes! Gotta go!"

"Oh yeah! We are in Biology together!" He said brightly, looking thrilled that he could spend even more time with me. Was I really that interesting? Huh, that was flattering. As we traipsed off to the class, my mind began to wander again. This was all so new, well, not the high school part. I had been through high school only god knows how many times. Thirty? Forty? Maybe around fifty? It doesn't matter.
