Chapter 1 Slipping Away
3 months after Tris's death.
The months that followed were nights of little sleep, teary nights, and losing my place in life. Two of my closest friends past away and their is hardly any one left. Christina is travelling back to live with her mother and sister, so it leaves me with two options both of which I have completely disregarded due to my past. I could live with my father or my mother. I am currently living at the Berau for assistance. I am supposed to go into real life "simulations" to try and get used to normal american life. America, i found out about 2 weeks ago is the place I have been living my entire life. I keep having a hard time grasping my mind around the earths size. And I can't live without.... Tris. I still havn't come to reality about it yet. I wake up every morning, hoping it was all just a dream. Hoping she'll walk through that door with a cup of coffee and her usual messy hair and greet me with a kiss. Then I wake up and enter reality, where there are no happy endings. No place where your loved ones will stay around forever. Marcus finaly took on his ending and left the city. He wasn't happy to do so, but my mother threatened his life. He immediatly came to me. Of course I wanted nothing to do with him. He was a filthy man. I could hardly bring myself to think about him, but when I did, immediatly a vile taste came to my mouth. He was an adult, and after all i'd been through, I didn't need anything weighing me down anymore. I was tired, I needed sleep, so I trotted off to my lonely old cott.
------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up to the sound of a siren. My head was swimiming and I couldn't see. I had had a dream about Marcus, with his long leather wip, I thought I had gotten rid of him from my mind, guess not. In the small room I slept, there were people scurrying everywhere. I got up and grabbed my jacket, I grabbed a shoulder of a nurse running by, she stopped and looked at me. I asked "What's going on?" I had to yell over the sirens. She yelled back "Theres been an emergency exit, one of the city expirements have uprisen and are attacking the Baraeu!" I didn't catch the beginning but, I heard the last part. The Bareau? Under Attack? This was madness. I had to help some how. I found Christina, and we ran through the door and down the hall way to the control room. Searching the monitors, Christina pointed to one of the rooms. "There! It looks like their trying to get in!" She yelled. "Alright! Come on! Follow me!" I yelled back. I ran to the door, and looked through both crowded hallways, I turned and yelled "This way!" I ran down the left hall and turned right, there, at the glass door was a man dressed in all black but I could see his face. The sirens seemed to go silent, I was sorounded with surprise, and horror, the man dressed in black was holding an AK47, with his finger on the trigger. I whispered, "Will?"
