Chapter 2;
Late Shift
It started off like any normal night, sit at the front desk, read the paper, play Mahjong with guests that were up, roam the halls, peak into the library, roam the halls, do the mail, roam the halls, roam the halls, roam the halls.There wasn't anything better than roaming the halls. Until I found a broken window.
It appeared as if it snapped in half with the top breaking from the bottom thru the middle. The shattered glass laid all over the 13th floors hallway.Everything seemed to happen on the 13th floor.
I heard a scared scream come from down the dark corridor. I turned to find not a single soul in sight.Ran down to the lobby checked the guest book with the guest names and room numbers there was no one, not a single body on the 13th floor. The floor was so thick in between the 12th and 13th floor no sound could travel thru the floor.Was it my imagination or was a ghost out for me.
It was still my first week when this happened so I thought it was just my nerves until the next day.
I had an afternoon shift and there was more bell hops at the hotel. I would be alright no ghost would harm a group of men that traveled in a group.
Every single one of those men was killed that night.No one ever knew that they died, everyone just thought they quit and went home. I was the only one that knew, I was keeping the ghosts secret, they wanted me singled out.
There was a basement in the hotel, the boiler room with 4 service elevators for the bell hops. inside the elevators there was one light, it always flickered.Off, on,off,on,off,on-it never stopped.
I can't believe I'm saying this but for a mid 20 year old I was scared for my life in those elevators. I was told that the cables in them were very old used cables that were not trustable. I took the stairs most of my job at the hotel.
