It finally came time when I go to Hogwarts. I had my trunk open so i can pack all of the things we bought the previous day. My room was small and a light blue that I have been decorating ever since I was taken here. As I was packing, I was wondering how I’m going to carry all of this. I didn’t mind it, I was just hoping that we would have trolleys.

I heard a light knock on the door. I turned around and saw a more aged Kreacher standing at my door. Kreacher had looked more tired and aged as I got older. “Hey Kreacher. What can I do for you?” I asked. My hair got longer and darker as the three years went by. I had pulled it back into a braid. “I have a present for you downstairs. Sort of a late birthday present.” He said. My birthday is the 28 of May and it was  currently the 30 of August and I was going to Hogwarts tomorrow. “Ok. I’ll be downstairs in a moment.” I said as I put my books inside of the trunk.

I walked downstairs and the smell always gives me a good feeling each time I smell the clean linen. “Kreacher! Where are you?” I yelled. “ I’m in the kitchen!” He yelled back. I walked into the kitchen to see a cage on the table with a tawny owl inside. “Wow!” I said. “I got it last night when you were sleeping in your room.” He said. I walked over to him and hugged. He didn’t return it until I hugged him tighter. I let go and ran with the cage upstairs. “Thank you!” I yelled down. “You’re welcome!” He yelled back.

I set the cage down on the floor and all she did was stare at me. I opened the cage door so she can stretch out wings. She flew out and sat on my shoulder and was nipping on my ear. “ I’ll call you Nip. How that sound?” I said. She hooted lightly in agreement. “Nip it is.” I said.

She flew around the room as I finished packing. I pulled my wand out. Fourteen and a half inches, Elder wood, Unicorn core, unwielding flexibility. I was looking at the wand in complete awe that this wand chose me.

I had put Nip back in her cage and decided to go to sleep. I wasn’t really tired so I was going to stay up and finish knitting my scarf and hat. I looked at my bedside table and it was half past twelve. I kept knitting until I felt tired. I had passed out and my knitting supplies next to me. I could feel Kreacher putting my blanket over me. I started to dream about going to Diagon Alley.

The air brushed against my skin as we walked into Diagon Alley. The rush of people blew my mind as I had never be that exposed to people. I looked around and I wasn’t watching what I was doing and started to fall backward. But before I had fallen, was caught. There was no way Kreacher could have held me up so I looked up and saw a red headed boy with lots freckles all over his face. He smiled down at me before he lifted me back up. “Thank you so much. I was just not used to all of the people so I looked around.” I said sheepishly. I looked at him, he was tall and gangly, had to be about five foot seven. I was five foot one. “It’s alright. I’m Ron. Ron out Weasley.” He said, holding his hand out to me. I took it. “Emmaline, Emmaline Black.” I said. We just stood there, still shaking hands. I let go and he kept looking at me. “ Can I walk with you. I need other people to talk to.” I said blushing. “Sure, when you live with five older brothers, you want more people to talk to. Oh, and one younger sister.” He said. “Five?!” I said.

Ron and I walked around for a while and bought our things. Most of his stuff was hand-me-downs because his parents didn’t have much. He talked about his family that both of  his eldest brothers left.

His brother Charlie lives in Romania working with dragons and his brother, Bill, lives in Egypt working for Gringotts Bank. his stories were fascinating to me because I was an only child and always had been. “ So, what is it like to be an only child?” He asked me. “Very lonely. I was very isolated, stuck in the house all day. Except for the one day. I get to choose to go anywhere I want to go for the whole day.” I said.
“ Where do you go?” He asked. I didn't want to tell him about my mum until I felt I could trust him and that we were friends. I told him the other things. “ I usually go around the muggle town and buy something for myself. Nothing really special. I go during the winter because of the snow.” I said. He just looked at me with a face of sympathy. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to bore you-” “ It wasn’t boring. I was just thinking what life is like. Being alone. All of the time.” He said. He smiled at and I returned the gesture.

“Ickle Ronniekins!!!!!!!” Yelled his twin brothers, Fred and George. Ron looked at me horrified. “Ah here you are. You even have a friend.” Fred said. “She has a name. Ron what’s her name.” George said. “Her name is Emmaline. Emmaline, these are my brothers, Fred and George.” He said pointing at them. “You can call me Emmi.” I said. “Well very nice to meet you. Ron, Mum says it’s time to go. Percy got his owl after an hour. Let’s go.” Fred said.

Ron looked at me. “ I’ll see you on the train ok?” he said. I nodded. I stood up walked with him to his mom, talking to Kreacher. The were talking about various cleaning methods. “Ah there you are Ron.” The woman said. She looked at me. “Oh hello dear, I never caught your name. I’m Molly Weasley.” She said. “ I’m Emmaline.” I said. She pulled me into a really tight. “Mum, you’re killing her.” Ron said. She let go. Ron walked over and we shook hands.

I was blushing the entire time as we were walking away. We both kept looking back and we eventually turned a corner. We were home and I decided write everything down so I never forgot. I was shocked on how much a person would talk to you.

I woke up as I heard my alarm go off. I turned it off and headed to the bathroom. My hair was all over place and i took out my brush and fixed it. I got changed into one of my favorite hand knitted jumpers that I made. I had forgot to pack all of my knitting stuff so I just packed it in a bag so I could do it during the train ride. Along with some money, just in case.

I brought all of my stuff downstairs and set it by the door. I poured out some cereal as Kreacher walked in. “Good morning.” I said. “I don’t know how you wake up so damn early in the morning.” He replied. I laughed. We didn’t have to leave for another three hours so I decided to go back to sleep. Just waiting for the train to arrive.
