It was half past ten as we were at the station. Luckily, they had trolleys. I saw Ron going. I told Kreacher he could go back home since he didn’t really care for people. I kissed his head and he vanished. “Ron!” I yelled. He looked over, glad to see me. “Hey Emmi.” He said. We high fived and we over to the Weasley family. Mrs. Weasley and threw me in another hug. Tighter than the other. “Nice to see you too, Mrs. Weasley.” I said. She let go a told me she would be here for me today. “You know what?” I was startled as the Weasley twins came up behind me. I looked at them. “What?” I said. “Mum took one look at your bag and was already hoping that one of us would fall in love with you.” George said. I look at the knitting needles in my bag. I pulled them out. “You mean these things? I didn’t know your mum praised knitting.” I said. They just look at Ron then walked away. I was confused.
I saw Mrs. Weasley talking to a boy with really untidy black hair with glasses. They all started to run through the barrier and I followed behind the twins. The rush of cool air washing all over me. I look up to see the big red train right before me. I put my luggage in the back and carried Nip and gently placed her down. “ Don’t worry, I’ll be back.” I said to her. She hooted at me and I giggled. I went to find Ron and he was still with his mum trying to get the dirt off his nose. “Mum! It’s fine!” He said. He looked at me mortified. I giggled.
He pulled away. “Goodbye Mrs. Weasley.” I said. I pulled her into a hug and she returned and treated me as her own. She was holding the hand of her youngest and, only daughter, Ginny. I looked at Ginny. “I’ll make sure to tell you any stories and try to protect you next year. I promise.” I said. Ginny hugged me and nodded her head with small tears in her eyes.
I got on the train with Ron trailing behind me. We finally found an empty compartment. I sat down and Ron sat next to me. I pulled out my knitting stuff and started to work on a matching jumper to my hat and scarf. “You knit?” He asked me. I pulled out my hat and scarf to show him my works. “I also have a blanket that I did two years ago.” I explained. “My mum would go crazy over you.” He said. “ So I’ve heard.” I said. He laughed.
The boy I saw talking to Mrs. Weasley was standing at the door of the compartment. “Can I sit here with you guys, everywhere else is full?” He said. “Yeah sure.” I said. He sat right across from me. “I’m Emmaline. Emmaline Black.” I said. “ And I’m Ron. Ron Weasley.” He said. “I’m Harry. Harry Potter.” My jaw dropped as he said his name. “So is it true. You know, you have the..the.” Ron said. “What?” Harry said. “Scar.” Ron said. “Oh, yeah.” Harry said. He lifted up his bangs to show us the scar. “Wicked.” I said. We laughed.
The trolley lady came by. “Anything from the trolley?” she asked us. “Two chocolate frogs and a bag of drooble's.” I said. She handed it to me and I then paid her. “We’ll take the lot.” Harry said pulling a handful of Galleons out of his pocket. Ron and I looked at him in awh. We stuffed our faces with all of the candy that we had bought. “I can’t eat another thing or I’ll bust.” I said. Ron laughed. We all got along just fine. I felt like we were all going to be the best of friends all through school. “Want to see a trick? My brothers taught me so beware of that.” He casted the spell at his rat, Scabbers, to see if he could turn him yellow.
As he casted the spell, a little girl came by with the biggest bush of hair on her head. “That’s not a real spell is it. I know some from the things I have been reading in the books.” She sat next to Harry. “For example.” She raised her wand at Harry’s face. I took my wand out of my pocket. “Oculus repairo.” She said. The piece of tape from Harry’s glasses and the were repaired. I looked at Ron and we were wondering who the the hell she. “Oh my god! You’re Harry Potter. I’m Hermione Granger, and you are?” She said. “Ron, Ron Weasley.” He said. “Pleasure, and you?” She said looking at me. “Um, Emmaline, Emmaline Black.” I said. She left the compartment and told us off as if she was our mother. At least that’s what Ron said.
It was dark outside and we were told that we were almost there. I went to go put on my robes as the bushy haired girl walked up to me. “I’ve heard about your mother.” She said. “W-what?” I said. “How she died two years ago? It was in the muggle paper that my father was reading at the time. I didn’t want to say anything in front of the boys. Would you like to see it?” She said gently. A lump formed in my throat. I nodded. I hadn’t thought about her in a while.
She pulled the paper out of her bag. The paper had her on the headlines with her body covered with a white sheet with her hand hanging out. I hadn’t realized that I was crying until I saw the teardrops on the paper. “It was a traumatizing moment for me. Watching her die like that. S-she w-was so w-wonderful.” I was sobbing and she had put her arm around me. I dug my head in her shoulder as we sat there as I cried.
I thanked her for showing me the article and I hugged her before we’re going back to our compartments. My eyes were red and puffy so I was ready for Ron and Harry to know what was going on. I walked in with my head down so they couldn’t see my face. “Hey you were gone a while.” Harry said. “Yeah are you ok.” Ron said. I nodded. I was afraid that my voice was going to crack. Ron tilted my head up and looked at my eyes. “What happened?” He asked. “Don’t worry about it.” I said.
Before he could say anything back the train came to a stop and we were to be escorted off of the train. I walked off trying not worry about what had happened on the train. Hermione stood beside me as I looked down at her. She smiled.
I had just made a friend who was the best person I have ever met. I have really met many.
