This is a media story!!!!!!

"Don't know much about geography,
Don't know much trigonometry.
Don't know much about algebra,
Don't know what a slide rule is for.
But I do know that one and one is two."
-Sam Cooke

Bep beep beep

A hand slammed on the snooze button, falling down to turn the wretched thing off. Groaning, Jacqueline rolled over, trying to fall back asleep, but something kept her awake. Then she remembered....

"Test day..."

**

Having just barely made it to school on time and now wide awake, Jacqueline was ready for school to be over. Gathering her things from her locker, she made her way to her first class, Advanced Algebra, just barely beating the bell.

"Good morning class." Miss Swanson said.

"Good morning Miss Swanson." The class responded.

"As you know today is an early leave day so we'll be taking a test reviewing chapter 16. If you finish early, you can do whatever you like, without leaving the classroom or disrupting your peers. Got it?" She explained, a stack of papers in her hand.

"Yes ma'am." Came from some students as others groaned or complained or sat in silence.

"Garth, will you please hand the papers out?" Miss Swanson asked, looking to the only freshman in the class.

"Sure." He said, standing up and passing the papers out, one by one before returning to his seat. Jacqueline looked father paper and new she was going to fail.

1. Use the Binomial Theorem to complete the expansion of (t+u)².
+2tu+u[]

2. Use the Binomial Theorem to complete the expansion of (y+z)⁴.
y⁴+4y[]z+6y²z²+4yz³+z⁴

3. Use Pascal's Triangle to complete the expansion of (p+q)⁴
p⁴+4p³q+[  ]p²q²+4pq³+q⁴

Hating all forms of math, she started writing in random answers, completing the four page packet and probably failing. Turning in the quiz, she went back to her seat and sat down, promptly turning her head to the side, pen at the ready. Ami, the girl who sat next to Jacqueline in Advanced Algebra and Civics, tossed her a nicely folded piece of paper. Opening it up, she deciphered the calligraphy known as Ami's hand writing. Tossing the paper back and forth for the rest of the hour, Ami and Jacqueline had a very "in depth" conversation.

The bell rang a few moments after Jacqueline threw the paper at Ami. Rushing out the class, books and pen in hand, Jacqueline made her way to her locker once more, replacing the Advanced Algebra books with the psychology text books.

"Why did I do this to myself?" Jacqueline wondered, running though the halls to arrive to class, on the second floor. Again, she just barely beat the bell to her seat.

"Alright. We all knew this was coming. Quiz! Just a short review over everything we have learned so far. Shouldn't be hard if you paid attention. When you finish, hand your quiz to me and take a work sheet. It is homework, due tomorrow." Mrs. Randlet stated, passing out stapled pieces of paper.

Jacqueline skimmed through the first few questions. A true false and explain why. Great.

"Great," Jacqueline thought to herself, "another failed quiz."

Rushing through the answers, Jacqueline tried to comprehend everything and answer it all to the best of her ability. She had never really paid attention in class, and it was coming back to bite her. Using the same method from her Advanced Algebra class, she quickly finished and exchanged the quiz for a worksheet. The questions on this, she knew the answers to.

Bored out of her mind and lack of sleep catching up to her, Jacqueline fell asleep, her dreams showing her some very peculiar things....
