A/N Using my motivation as much as possible. I like writing, but sometimes I just don't have the motivation to do it. Also, I've never had been to a vet, so I had to guess a little, and may have wrote some inaccuracies. Please forgive me. But anyway, please enjoy X3 ~Cheela_writes
--------------( Ross' POV )-------------
It was quiet. The car ride, mostly silent besides mine and Tim's breathing, and a few coughs and sneezes from KP. I breezed my hand over her back and sighed. The air felt dense and stiff. "C'mon Ross, look on the bright side." Tim glanced over at me. "Bright side? How? KP is incredibly ill--", "I'm here. We can get through this together." The short editor beamed. I suddenly felt my lips quiver up into a smile. "You're right." I breathed. I looked down at KP again. "Try not to worry. It'll be alright." He sent me a nervous smile. I glanced out my window and at the world beyond. It was bright and beautiful out there. "I am going to worry, no stopping that, but I can try to not worry as much. . ." I clarified, talking almost to myself. Tim let out a breath of acknowledgement at my words. "Well, for your sake and mine, just try to think about other things. Happy things." The short brunette advised. I nodded quietly and directed my sights to Tim. He was the thing that made me happy. I looked at him longingly, looking away every now and then so he didn't think I was acting weird.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Time Lapse~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I saw it. The building approaching just above the horizon. I felt my smile stretch. I darted my eyes to look at the digital clock on the dashboard. It was 2:52, and the appointment was at three. We were going to make it. We were alright. I looked down at KP, releasing a shallow breath. "What did I tell you?" Tim asked. I hummed. "Not to worry. And I'm not! Well, not a lot anyway." I returned matter-of-factly. Tim breathed out a laugh. "Alright." He stopped the car. It was a red light, and the vet was mere moments away. "Very traffic heavy today." I looked out my window at all the cars on the road. "Yeah." The short editor agreed. "Hey, at least they didn't stop us from making it here on time." I turned to Tim, smiling slightly. He nodded in agreement.
Moments later and we could go again. We turned and rode into the driveway, slowly driving to find a parking space. "There." I pointed to a spot between a Jeep and a sports car. Tim took the spot quickly, parking us smoothly. I watched as Tim unbuckled himself and took out his keys. He turned to me and I handed him KP, so I could get myself unbuckled. After I unbuckled myself, I turned and pushed open my door. "Uh, Ross?" Tim gestured KP to me. I smiled and stepped out of the car. "Hold on," I replied. Looping around, I went to Tim's door and opened it for him. I watched as he stepped out, closing his door behind him. "Now do you want KP?" Tim gestured the cat to me once more. I giggled, taking her back from him and cradling her in my right arm. Tim pressed the lock button on his keys, locking the car as we walked away from it. "So, you ready, Ross?" The short brunette looked up at me. I half shrugged. "We'll finally find out what's wrong with KP." He sent me a hopeful look. "Maybe it won't be terrible." He added. His eyes glittered with hope as he looked up at me. I locked eyes with him, staying quiet and giving him a dead stare. I then let out a sharp breath. "We can only hope." I glanced down at KP. She looked feeble, her head held low, her tail and ears drooping.
We approached the vet's building. White and formal, it stood. We walked under a kind of roof, held up by rectangular white pillars, leading up to the door. The doors were mainly glass, held by a black squared frame. The handles also black and broad. I looked through the doors. The inside was brightly lit, and people were lined up at the front desk, most likely all trying to get an appointment set up, or get registered so they could go to their appointment today. Tim-- being a few steps ahead of me-- pulled open the door, and let me walk in. We got in line, with about three to four people ahead of us. I turned to Tim, a nervous look on my face. He stared up at me, his eyes shining, reflecting my concern. I watched as he reached to pet KP on her head. The cat tried to purr, but all that came out was a raspy broken mew. "Poor KP, man," Tim breathed, retracting his hand. I nodded solemnly. "Hopefully she'll be alright. . ." I trailed off.
