The cool wind races it's way threw my short brunette hair. I look up at the ocean blue sky's which remind me of my crystal blue eyes. I smile up to the tree branches to fight and smash against each other as if they are in battle. Birds swing from the sky's as squirts jump from trees. The fresh scent of nature fills my nostrils. I love the woods.
Right now I'm walking through the woods. It calms me when I'm angered or upset and it seems to relax me. As if it is my calling. I recently had a fight with my mom telling her I wanted to go to my old high school in my hometown. New Jersey was just eight hours away and my aunt lives there so I'll have easy transportation.
"We can't afford to move again Jazz." Her harsh words play in my mind. "We barley have enough to fill the food supply and pay the bills. You know your dad is working two jobs just so we have a roof over our heads."
"I know mom, but did you forget? Aunt Tammy is there and she said she would be glad to welcome me in her home." Huffing of impatience, I scrub the dirty dish clean of its wasted food.
"I just- we can't. We have too much on our hands Jazz. Can you just please let it go?" She folds her eyebrows in annoyance and is clearly done with this conversation - but I'm not.
"No mom! I'll drive there! I just got my drivers license. I can take care of myself mom, I'm sixteen! I am capable of taking care of myself. You sho-" I'm soon cut off by my aggravated mother.
"ENOUGH! I am done speaking about this Jazmine. I'll talk to your father but don't expect anything yet." She stormed out of this room as if I told her dad cheated on her.
Angered, I shake my head getting rid of the memory that happened minutes ago. The crunch of my feet landing ion the leaves seems to calm my anger. I take a few breathes in and out before heading back to our one story home.
I step into my home and instantly greeted my my angry father and tired mom. My dad soon stepping forward.
"I am upset with how you spoke to your own mother that way." I mentally rolled my eyes. "But we came to the conclusion that you are old enough to take care of yourself and head to New Jersey to meet our Aunt Tammy. Just make sure you respect her rules, get in absolutely no trouble, and call us at lease once a day. If by any chance you can't call, then text us, but text why."
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I jumped up giving them a big giant hug. The laugh and we spun around in a complete circle.
"Okay Okay! Now go pack. You leave once you wake up." My mom ordered me than grabbing me into another hug. "I'm going to miss you!"
"I'm going to miss you too!" I kissed her cheek and hugged her close to my body not wanting to let go.
"Same here Princess." My dad smiled. I jumped out of my moms arms and into my dads.
"I love you guys!" I started to cry and hugged my dad closer.
"We love you too Sweetie!"
Driving down to my Aunt Tammy's in my small red, rusted truck. Some people would hate driving this truck filled with worn leather seats and an old man smell, but I love it. It makes me feel one of a kind. The song "wiggle" turns on and I tune it up.
"You know what to do with that big fat butt,
"Wiggle wiggle wiggle,
Wiggle wiggle wiggle,
Wiggle, Wiggle, wiggle,
Just a little Bit of... swing,
Party cake patty cake with no hands,
Got me in this club making wedding plans,
If I take pictures while you do your dance,
I can make you famous on Instagram."
The song got stopped short when I arrived at my Aunt Tammy's house. I pull up to her large house. Like seriously! This thing is like three floors!
I know on the dark wooden door, waiting for her to open the door. When I swings open I immediately get tackled into a breathe taking hug - no seriously. I can't breathe.
"Hey Aunt Tammy! Um if you don't mind, I would like to Um, breathe." I manage to choke out before I go unconscious.
"Oh, sorry dear." She chuckles. "Go right ahead. In the kitchen is fresh baked Chocolate chip cookies and-"
"Wait. You got me at chocolate." I bolted in the door letting the scent of the freshly baked cookies lead my way. "Gotcha."
I shove three or four cookies in my mouth before hearing a deep chuckle behind me. I slowly turn around to be faced with my Uncle Clifford.
"Ahhhh you got back from the Navy!" I screamed and jumped on my uncle.
"Yeah, just this morning. It was my last time, I'm staying home." He gives me a toothy grin. My smile stretches because he was my favorite uncle out of all nine, yes nine.
"I'm so glad. I'm proud of you and happy that your safe." I put my hand up to my forehead acting as if I'm a soldier. "Thank you for your service!"
"Your welcome." He bows and comes back up with a straight back. We both look at each other and burst out laughing. I'm rolling on my stomach trying to fill air into my burning lungs that don't seem to be filled with oxygen.
"Oh my! What have I walked in to." Auntie walked in with a huge smile at the scene in front of us. "Okay Jazmine. It's getting late. You can go unpack and you start school tomorrow. Enjoy."
I groan at the sound of school. I absolutely hate it. I walk up stars grabbing my two black suitcases and unpacking. Once I'm done, I change into pjs and fall asleep on the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.
But before I fall asleep, I think about how many hot guys I will see tomorrow at school.
