He watches as her blonde and silver locks whip around her pale face, shivering and red from the harsh cold. Her smiling blue-grey eyes matched perfectly with the winter theme.

He met her last week while racing to his Potions class. Literally racing. James and Sirius wanted to see who was faster. Remus would have won, if he hadn't run over the Slytherin girl.

From the moment he saw her face, he knew he felt something. And he thinks she feels the same way.

Her name is Jessica and when she meets someone new, her cheeks blush every time she says something or makes eye contact with that person. However, as soon as she knows someone well enough, she reveals her true personality. Sassy and loud. Not a bad loud, just opinionated.

Remus has only seen her shy and reserved side and he suspects she has another side; almost everyone does.

Jessica doesn't have a good family life. Her parents never wanted a child and were surprised, to say the least, when they found out her mother was pregnant. They decided to give it a go.

During the first couple years of her life, Jessica's parents seemed to like being parents until one night without warning, they left. Her mom called Jessica's uncle and from that night on, he was her legal guardian.

She doesn't remember much of her parents. And she doesn't mind it that much.

Jessica told Remus of her family troubles on a particularly starry and cold night about two weeks before Christmas.

When he found out that she would be staying here, he felt sorry for her.

"Jessica?"

"Yes?"

"James, Sirius, Peter, and I are going to stay together this Christmas. James is bringing Lily so  I bet they wouldn't mind if you came with me?" Remus mumbled the last part, not completely sure how she would respond.

Her expression was confusing at first, but then her lips shaped into a beautiful smile; one Remus had grown to love.

She nodded her head in agreement to Remus' proposal.

"Really? You will?"

Her head bobbed up and down more as he asked for confirmation.

Remus sculpted his own handsome smile and laughed along with Jessica.

The day has come. Remus had been looking forward to this for three days. Today all the students that were leaving for Christmas got to pack and go home for a few weeks.

Jessica said bye to her large group of friends, while Remus stood with his little group. Other than Sirius, James, and Peter, he had no one else whom he considered a good friend.

Jessica bounded over, something that was quite peculiar and grabbed Remus' hand, something that was even more so.

Now it was Remus' turn to blush wildly.

It had been four days since they had left the school. It was Christmas Eve and everyday, Jessica would thank her past self even more for agreeing to go with this group.

Since they had gotten to this small cottage in the mountains, Jessica's entire demeanor had changed.

She was no longer the small spoken, shy girl. She was now the sassy and outspoken girl.

Before they left, Jessica had barely spoken to Remus; she let him do all the talking. She would never challenge anyone opinion wise. And she had never grabbed Remus' hand.

Remus was always the one to grab her hand, if they held hands at all.

Although she had changed dramatically, Remus could still easily see the small and broken girl inside.

On Christmas morning, everyone woke up to a tree filled with presents. No one knew where they came from, but that didn't matter to them.

After opening all the presents, the group sat in a circle and chatted for hours. They didn't do anything but talk and that was fine because they were together.

They talked about everything, every once in awhile getting up to get snacks.

Towards the end of the day, Lily asked about Remus and Jessica.

Remus blushed and grabbed her hand.

"Actually, I do have something to say."

Everyone's head turned in his direction.

"Jessica. I know we only met a few weeks ago, but I feel like we have something. I-uh, I was wondering if you wou-"

"Yes."

"What?"

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend." And with that, Jessica leaned in for a much needed and long awaited kiss.

When they pulled away, both of them were blushing.

They laughed and smiled, happy that this was happening.

Remus finally had his girl, and she was perfect.
