Quintyn left the mall with her bags feeling reasonably light for the first time in a few years. She hasn't thought much about her clothes, or cute boys at the mall. Instead her mind flashed with visions of the sad faced, captivating girl Elena Gilbert. The annoying and insensitive comments Caroline had made throughout the day sat in the back her mind burning holes that hadn't yet closed.

Quintyn was grateful for Caroline in all honesty. However the two of them were each individuals and very, very different. Caroline was perky, bubbly, confident, and a bit ignorant. It wasn't Caroline's fault that she was selfish when it came to others feelings. She wasn't forced to grow up or deal with hardships head on at a young age. Quintyn knew she'd be lying if she said she wasn't envious of Caroline. She was a pale blonde with a go getter personality. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that. Quintyn had always wanted to be that way after all.

Caroline was quick to pick up on Quintyn's silence. However it didn't stop her from talking, or ranting. The remainder of the ride consisted of complaints that somehow all found themselves connected to Elena. It was evident that Caroline was jealous, but Quintyn was still surprised. Caroline seemed so self assured, and from the stories she had told, Caroline had no competition for popularity.

Eventually the street began to look somewhat familiar and the large white historical home popped into Quintyn's peripheral vision. Caroline let the car idle on the curb in front of the small house that Quintyn now called home. Benn emerged out of the house to greet the girls with Liz Forbes following behind.

"You're sure you don't want to stay tonight?" Caroline asked.

"Um, maybe tomorrow, I still have to pack my entire room. I really am interested and appreciated the offer." Quintyn replied with a smile and quickly opened the car door with the few bags she had.

Benn was quick to approach his daughter and ask how things went. The excitement was evident in his voice when both girls told him they had a good time. It wasn't long before the pair were heading inside their small home when Caroline grinned widely and  yelled "Bye Quinn!" Quintyn plastered a large smile across her face and called back, "Bye Care."

Quinn changed into a comfortable pair of leggings and a baggy hoodie advertising her favorite band once she was home. She took her hair out the braid she had tightly styled earlier and settled for a sloppy but functional pony tail. Quinn lazily trudged down the stairs only to find her father doing exactly what she expected; watching football in the kitchen.

Quinn instantly found herself rummaging through the fridge, attempting to find something good, when Benn interrupted her. "So Quinn, huh? That's new." He commented nonchalantly.

Quinn shrugged and mumbled. "Yeah, well I like it."

Benn let out a small chuckle of relief. "Okay maybe you haven't changed much. Still listen to Blink 182, mumble, and can't manage to anything sincere without it being followed by a sarcastic comment."

"Thanks dad." Quinn rolled her eyes playfully and smirked. She made sure to annunciate her words as well.

"Hope you didn't find anything to good in there, Q. We have dinner plans tonight." Benn warned his daughter who flicked her eyebrows up with mock curiosity. "Is that invite to the Grille?" She chuckled closing the fridge door.

"Actually, it was invite to our neighbors next door in the plantation house. The Gilberts, they have a daughter named-"
