I put it on the bed and threw the top of the box off. I looked inside and there was nothing. Not a quarter left. All my money was in there, well all of our spare money. There was no note or anything. I sat on the bed, with no expression on my face. I just stared blankly at the wall. I had so many thoughts running through my head. Did he take all the money and leave? Did he find someone better? Did he finally have enough of me? Did he buy a new gun or something? Was I only a toy or money supply? Does he or did he love me? I calmly walked out of the room and went to the living room, and I went and sat on the couch. I had so many emotions going through me, but I still had a blank expression. I just sat there waiting for Austin to come.
After waiting only a couple of minutes, there was a knock on the door. I walked to the door and opened it.
"Heyyy- Oh my god, are you okay?!"
"I...I.." I broke down crying and fell in Austin's arms.
"Sssshhhh... It's okay sweetie, I'm here." Austin said soothingly.
I just kept crying. I couldn't stop myself from crying.
"Just let it all out hun"
And I did. I was letting it ALL out.
Austin had me in his lap, holding me and soothing me. All I could do was cry.
"Sssshhhhh... Take all the time you need honey. I'm here to talk to."
"Thanks" I managed to say, in between half choking sobs.
I sat in Austin's lap crying for a couple more minutes before I was able to get a hold of myself. I wiped off my tears, controlled my breathing, and wiped my nose on my shirt.
"You better now sweetie?" Austin asked.
"Yeah, sorry about that..." I trailed off.
"It's no problem, but what made you cry?"
I sighed.
"You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. I'm sorry if I asked a sensitive question."
"No no, it's fine."
"You sure? Cause I'm not forcing you to tell me."
"Yeah, I know. I just..." I trailed off again.
"Is it Michael?"
"Yeah..."
"What happened?"
"I'll tell you, but I'm getting a beer. You want one?"
"Sure"
"K"
I got up from Austin's lap and went to go grab the pack of beer. I got it, went in the kitchen, got two bottles and opened them, and them I put the rest in the fridge. I walked back to the couch and sat next to Austin.
"Here's your bottle" I said, handing him his bottle.
"Thanks" He replied taking a big swig.
"Alright, well..." I took a big swig of my beer "Remember how I told you how he wasn't home, and how he's normally home before me?"
"Yeah...."
"Well, after you called, I layed on the couch and closed my eyes and tried to relax a little. Then, I remembered the money box. I just got a weird feeling when I thought about it. So, I rushed into the room to check, and when I did, there was nothing left. Not a quarter. And he didn't leave a note or anything."
"Oh, I'm sorry"
"And I had so many thoughts. I thought that maybe he left me, or found someone better."
"Oh hun, I'm sure he didn't."
"But what if he did?" I took a drink of beer.
"Well then he's an asshole, and there's me." Austin took a drink of his beer as well.
"I just... I just don't know what I would do without him. He's my world. My everything. My king"
"Awe. I know how you feel."
Just as I was about to say something, my phone went off, alerting me that I had a notification. I eyed it while I took a swig of beer. I decided to check it.
When I unlocked my phone, I went to Snapchat to see who texted me, and I realized it was only a friend.
