I paced the living room of the abandoned house Klaus acquired a few days ago. I kept over hearing him and Rebekah discussing the events that they were planning for their arrival back in Mystic Falls. He refused to answer any of my inquiries about it. I couldn't help but think that it has something to do with Elena, it always has something to do with her.

"Will you stop pacing." Klaus strolled into the room and plopped on the couch. I stopped and crossed my arms as I leaned on the doorframe. "Why the long face, friend?" he sipped from his glass, lips stained red.

"I just want to know why we are back here." I simply stated. He rolled his eyes and sighed heavily. "You told me that we were not coming back here any time soon." I added.

"I know what I said. Some interesting information has serviced and I have to retrieve my belongings." he vaguly stated. "Now, come and sit. Have a drink."

I obliged, like I had any other choice. Found that I really didn't care anymore with that knowledge as well. Klaus had recently compelled me to turn off my emotions. I had no choice in the matter, but at times I do have a distaste for him in the matter. He handed me his glass and I sipped from it, carefully not to let the blood touch my lips, I personally did not like the red lip look.

"Well, can we hurry up and do this task and leave?" I persisted.

"Why the hurry? Thought you liked this town? Not sure why." he commented.

Rebekah strolled in at that moment and sneered at them both.

"Just got off the phone with Katherine. She visited the Gilbert house tonight." she informed us.

"And.." Klaus stood.

"That's all, said that everyone was there, they were talking amongst themselves. She said that she told them you were coming for her." she finished.

"Good. Keep them on their toes." he ran his hand through his hair and looked at her.

"Can I?" she asked, almost smiling. He nodded and she turned and fled from the room in a blink of an eye.

"Can she what?" I asked.

"No worries, Stefan." he turned and smiled at me. "We have work to do."

I looked down at her angelic face. She looked so peaceful as she slept. She stirred slightly and leaned into my chest, breathing deeply. I brushed her hair out of her face and caressed her cheek. Her eyes slowly opened.

"It's weird to stare." she whispered. I smiled. "What time is it?" she sat up and stretched her arms.

"Morning time." I replied. I jumped up from the bed and brushed the wrinkles in my shirt and pants. "I need to go, figure some things out." I turned to face her. She watched me expectantly.

"Figure what out?" I rolled my eyes and sighed as I strolled over to her. I placed my hands on her shoulders.

"Are you kidding me? Do you not remember anything that happened last night? The arguement that we had on the front porch? Your friends here last night trying to figure out how to save your life?" I tried unsuccessfully to control the tone in my voice, her eyes widened and she took a step back out of my reach.

"Then leave!" she blurted out. She turned and fled to the bathroom slamming the door behind her. I threw my arms in the air in defeat and flew out the window.

"Elena?!" I heard a voice calling my name floating up the stairs. I peaked out of my bedroom door and saw Jeremy sprinting up the stairs. "Elena!" I gripped my towel closer around my body and opened the door just as Jeremy flew in. "Jesus, will you answer me?!" He was breathing hard and fast as he sat on the edge of my bed.

"I was in the shower. What's wrong?" I asked. Feeling quite uncomfortable standing almost in the nude. I inched over to the bathroom and slipped my robe off the door hook strategically slipping into it as he spoke.

"I got a call from Damon. He saw Rebekah in town, then he just hung up in mid sentence. I think there is something wrong." he explained.

"He's a vampire, he can take care of himself." I responded. Jeremy looked up at my dumbstruck.

"Are you kidding me? Not against Klaus." he exclaimed as he stood.

"Can I finish getting dressed? I'll help you find him." I walked over to my closet and shuffled through my clothes finally settling on a blue top with jeans and a black leather jacket.

"You are staying here." he stated. I turned with my clothes in my arms and stared at him.

"What do you mean I'm staying here? First Damon wants to get me out of this town, now you are going to make me stay in this house?" I exclaimed, throwing my clothes on the bed.

"Alaric and everyone are out looking for Damon. It could just be a false alarm." he walked over to the doorway. "We are not taking a chance of them taking you. This is getting serious, Elena, they are offically in town now. This is not something we are going to discuss." he closed my bedroom door behind him.

I quickly dressed and brushed my hair dry, applying a minimal amount of makeup before grabbing my bag and jacket peering out my window. It lead out onto a low part of the roof, so I climbed out closing the window behind me. A large tree hugged the side of the house a few feet away, I looked down and sighed when I saw Tyler standing at the base of the tree pacing. He stopped and looked up.

"I know you are up there." he said, as he continued pacing. "I'm going to go inside and check on Caroline, I'll be back in 5 minutes." he strolled away towards the back door. I smiled and dropped my bag and jacket to the ground and scaled the tree. As my feet touched the ground I quickly picked my things back up and took off down the street.
