When morning came, Mae was the first to wake. Normally, she piled her blankets high unnecessarily. Yet, that day, there were only a couple of blankets atop her. That wasn't all. She was actually wearing something, which turned out to be her bathrobe. And for the first time, there was someone else in bed with her. She barely had to look up to see Jay's face. It was so close that if she craned her neck just a bit, their faces could touch.
She took her time staring at him. Their limbs were tangled and every bit of her was pressed against him. She blushed when she realized that there was a little bit of something that hadn't been nearly as noticeable through the night. It was the morning, after all, so she couldn't hold it against him. Sunlight painted his black lashes gold. She found his lips and resisted the urge to kiss them.
She must have fallen asleep on the couch and he must have carried her to her bed. She had a feeling that the reason that he was sharing her bed was somehow her fault. She tried to gently untangle herself from him, but he shifted in his sleep. Yet, seeing his... 'Condition' in the morning, she felt that the best decision was to somehow get out of bed. Of course, not only did her efforts fail, but she managed to wake him up.
He groaned. "Where...?" His voice was thick with sleep but it was impossible, even in his groggy state, to not notice the woman in his arms. Mae's cheeks were red, her hair was all over the place. He couldn't help but smile. "Sorry, I fell asleep. I didn't do anything, though."
"Yeah," she answered. She seemed flustered, and for a moment, he wondered why. Was it embarrassment? And then he remembered and any trace of sleepiness left him.
"Oh, golly!" In his haste to untangle himself, he toppled off the small bed and onto the floor. For a second, Mae was filled with worry, but when she saw him so flustered and embarrassed, trying to apologize and get rid of the blanket he had brought down with him, she burst out laughing, but fell on top of Jay herself, because both of them were tangled in the same blankets.
She was right on top of him. If she reached out just a little, their lips would meet. There wasn't much to laugh about anymore. All she had to do was reach out just a little. But before she could, he beat her to it. First, it was a small peck. Just a gentle brush of their lips. He stared at her lips, and his eyes didn't seem so innocent as the night before. They held fire in them; that was for sure.
Next thing, their lips crashed together and before she knew it, he had flipped them over and he was pressed against her. She was trapped under him, but she had no intention of leaving. His hands roamed her body and she felt his back. His touch left her trembling like a leaf in a storm. But she wanted no escape from this delightful storm.
"Wait," he gasped and broke free. "Should we stop?"
She swallowed. "If you stop now, I'll go crazy." That was all the incentive that was needed.

Mae was definitely exhausted. They had started out at some ungodly hour in the morning, and finished by late noon. They had been lying beside one another ever since. Silently, just basking in each other's presence. Their robes, though, were nowhere to be found. She didn't particularly mind, and Jay didn't seem to mind at all either. She snuggled comfortably against his chest. She could get used to this. That was for sure.
"Hungry?" Jay's voice seemed to course through his body before coming out. His chest vibrated with the sound. She took her time considering. She was hungry. Any human would be after the workout he had sweetly given her. But she simply didn't want to leave her cocoon of comfort with him in it. She hadn't ever felt like this. Like the mythical 'sparks'. They did exist. She felt them when she was with Jay.
