Chapter 3

Lifelight's PoV

I woke up from my flashback, covered by the only blanket me and my friends shared in our small cell. "Lifelight! You're okay! But you look, um, different", Kindheart told me. "How different?" I asked, slightly afraid I would scare my friends every time they looked at me. "Well, you, sorta, kinda, have spots all over you and your wings. And look at your tail." Buttercup told me. I looked at my tail, and instead of my long, light brown, wavy tail, I saw a dog tail. It wasn't a fluffy poodle tail, thank Celestia. It was a dalmatian tail, along with spots everywhere on my body. Even my wings! 'Lunch time, inmates' A voice said, and two guards came to escort us to the mess hall. They put a spell on Kindheart's horn so she couldn't cast or do spells or something. I don't know, I'm just a pegasus. We arrived at the mess hall, and I stopped myself from gasping. Foals everywhere our age or younger. Who would do such a thing to innocent foals, I asked myself as I got some food. Some of it looked like it was an animal once. I just stuck to the fruits and vegetables. Something about the foals didn't seem right. Some had beaks, others had fangs. I shuddered. They were all mutations. One looked like it was a bird. It had tallons where hooves should of been. I looked at my hooves. They still looked like hooves. I ate my lunch silently with my friends until my plate was knocked on the ground. "Well, look what we got here! Some wimpy fillies. And a doggie! Go get your food, like a good little doggie." A rude colt who looked like a cross between a Griffin and a unicorn. He had no wings. I went to pick up my food from the ground when he tripped me and I landed face first into the food. A series of laughter were made as I got myself of the ground, from everypony except my friends. I got my food off the ground, and got up to get an apple. I ate it and threw the core away. 'Head to your cells, inmates.' The voice said. We got up and matched back to our cells. The guards locked the door and left. They gave us orange jumpsuits to put on. "Lifelight, what did they do to you?" Kindheart asked me. "Cut me with a giant saw and injected something into me." I told her. I laid our only blanket down in the corner. I sighed. Why did I have a feeling that this place is a prison? I really just wanted to be home right now, hanging out on the clouds. That was better, no scratch that, anything is better than this place. It was so spooky! Mutants, kidnapped foals, wait, kidnapped foals? Yes, of course! It was plastered all over the newspapers! I just hope my parents are okay. ' Inmate number 33,047, is to report to the laboratory.' The voice said. Kindheart's jumpsuit had the number 33,047 on the pocket. Oh no. She was going to be experimented on next! I couldn't let this happen. As soon as the guards came in, I let out a low growl. It was like instincts. I was protecting my friends, because nopony should experience that kind of pain. I let out a threatening bark. One of the guards took out a dog whistle and blew into it. "Ahh!" I screamed. My ears hurt and I whimpered. They took out Kindheart. I knew we wouldn't see her for a while. "What will the do to Kindheart?" Buttercup asked me. I looked away. "Lifelight, tell me, what will the do to her?" Buttercup asked. I took a deep breath and looked strait at her. "Experiment on her. Add DNA. Teleport her back." I told Buttercup. She looked shocked. "We have to get out of here" Buttercup told me. "Yes, but how? We're new here, and I don't think all the foals will help us get out. I think that Griffin mutant is the leader here. So in order to get all the foals out, we will need to gain their trust." I explained to Buttercup. We made a plan, I used my new sharpened senses to tell when the guards were close. We will break out of here, before it's to late.
