"Me and my girls."
-Selena Gomez, Me and My Girls

MY BEST FRIEND Cammy squealed as she and my older brother Sean jumped into the lake. I of course, sat back safely on the beach. I had my newest obsession, Gossip Girl in my hands and I was content.
Sitting in the sun all day had its cons, so let's just say I learned to wear extra sunscreen when I was lounging on the beach. Which was all the time. Feeling hot, I gathered my long, dark locks into a decent looking top knot and continued reading.
Already halfway through my book, I contemplated taking a break and going for a swim. Nah, I'm good. Just as I turned the next page, my beloved book was ripped from my fingertips. I snapped my head up to see Sean, smirking down at me. He tossed my book on the sand and hoisted me onto his wet shoulders.
"Sean, put me down!" I screamed, pounding on his back. He continued walking, not even flinching under my harsh hits. I slumped over in defeat. Guess I'm taking a break.
"Sean, can you please put me down?" I pleaded. He pretended to think about it, rubbing his chin before responding.
"Sure, why not?" He reasoned and I sighed in relief. Suddenly, Sean positioned my body so that I was being held bridal style in his arms. Now being able to see my surroundings clearly, my eyes widened in horror. We were right in front of the water. I opened my mouth to protest, but it was too late.
I screeched as he tossed me into the lake, the cold water engulfing me whole. When I resurfaced, I shot Sean a death glare. He was laughing so hard, anyone walking
by could've mistaken him for a dying whale.Shivering, I ambled to the shore. Cammy was drying her wet body and she handed me a towel, stifling a laugh. I rolled my eyes and snatched it from her hands. Drying off carelessly, I plopped onto my beach chair, annoyed that I was interrupted. Reaching for my forgotten book, I spotted my mini water gun peeking out from my beach bag. What? When you have Sean as a brother, you learn to be prepared.
I smirked and grabbed it, thinking of all the possibly ways I could get my revenge. I snapped my head back to Cammy and Sean, who were over by the restrooms. Sean's tanned back was facing me, and he threw his head back, laughing at something Cammy had said. Perfect. I jogged over to the lake and quickly filled my gun with water.
Tiptoeing to where they stood, I aimed the gun at an oblivious Sean. Cammy however, glanced at me and I winked. She smirked knowingly before turning her attention back to Sean, who was talking animatedly about some action movie. When she glanced at me again and winked, Sean noticed and turned around.
His eyes widened upon seeing the water gun in my hands, locked and loaded. I smirked and took that as my cue to press the trigger. Cammy jumped back as the water completely drenched Sean's dark hair and splashed his face. When the plastic gun was empty, I tossed it aside and took off running, giggling.
Sean quickly recovered and soon I heard bare feet pounding in the sand behind me. Not very athletic, I couldn't run any faster and soon Sean once again grabs me. He scoops me up, carrying me back to the lake. I don't fight him this time, defeated.
"The perks of being on the football team," Sean sighed, satisfied. I rolled my eyes at his arrogance. We reach the water again and the last thing I see is Cammy cackling before I'm tossed into the frigid water.

"Bye Sean, see you in a couple months," my voice muffled as I hugged him tight. He was going back to college, which unfortunately wasn't close to home.He comes to visit every once in a while, when he's not busy with hectic college life. I truly do miss him when he's gone. When he does visit, Cammy, him, and I have made it our tradition that we hang out at the beach and catch up. Later on we go home and have a huge dinner with Cammy's family.
Cammy and I have been best friends since we were born, literally. Our mothers were pregnant around the same time. Cammy was born May 29 and I was born July 17. We grew up together and always had each other's backs. Especially after my dad died in a car accident when I was only 2 years old. I don't remember him, but I know what he looks like because my mom has a bunch pictures of all of us. My favorite one is a picture of him holding me after I was born. His eyes sparkled, that same unique shade of blue that Sean has. He looked genuinely happy crouching next to my mother, a wide grin on his young face.
I'm not the only one who grew up without her father, unfortunately. Cammy's father left her and her mother when she was 5 years old. Her mother was devastated, but she learned to accept what happened and be grateful to still have Cammy. They're really close just like my mother and I, and I'm glad to have all of them in my life.
Sean, Cammy and I have been the three musketeers for as long as I can remember. I remember when we were younger we'd get into all kinds of trouble, mostly Sean's ideas. Cammy was an only child, so she always considered us her family. Now Sean is 19 and in his sophomore year at Hackmore University. Cammy and I are 17 and in our senior year at Marden High.
Speaking of Sean and Cammy, I always thought they would be cute together. They both had their fair share of boyfriends and girlfriends, but it never worked out. I always catch them staring at each other and flirting. On the other hand, I've never kissed or dated anyone, but I'm no Cammy.
You know, drop dead gorgeous, sleek black hair to die for, irresistible smile and a beautiful body that I've always been jealous of. Along with every other girl at Marden High. Everyone either wants to be her, or be with her. I honestly don't know why she chooses to be seen with me, the nobody. Seriously, half the people at school have no idea I exist.
"Flight 317, to Chicago, Illinois had landed--" was all I heard before I snapped my eyes to Sean, who was already standing up from the bench we were sitting on. He opened his arms wide and I immediately jumped into them, squeezing him tight once again. After a moment, he released me, turning to Cammy.
She threw her arms around his neck and he buried his face into her hair. I smiled at their cuteness. After their hug, Sean grabbed his bags and kissed both of our foreheads. We shouted our goodbyes as we watched him walk to the terminal, both sad to see him go.
