"I'll just say something, me and my family? We are not good people, and probably never will be, but just because of our actions or bad, that doesn't mean we have bad hearts as well."

Why is there a need for war?

Itachi continued to run, spotting many ninjas in front of him, fighting on top of a bridge. While he continued to observe, he noticed a young girl looking to be about the same age as Itachi, brown hair, and wearing a light purple kimono that has been soaked from the heavy rain.

He then soon fallowed behind her, watching her every move to see what was she going to do. Itachi had noticed that she had brought out a few paper bombs holding them tightly before her brown eyes darted towards his direction. Quickly placing a couple of paper bombs in his hand, while asking in a very steady tone. "Can you help me with something?"

He thought for a moment, staring at what was placed in his hand. After debating, Itachi soon gave a nod answering with. "Yes, what do you want me to help you with."

"I need to blow up that bridge. It will surely help!" The enthusiasm was shown in her voice, while she gave him a small, the same as it stuck in her eyes as well.

To blow up this bridge? This is the Kannabi bridge isn't it?

Itachi bought for a moment before giving another nod. "Yes, I could help you with that."

After that, the two kids had continued running towards the bridge. Swiftly passing by enemy ninja without them seeing the two, before heading towards the base of the Kannabi bridge. Once they had gotten around the shinobi above them, the two began to scatter the paper bombs all over from where they could reach, making sure that they both got the perfect places in order to get the bridge down much faster. Once they were satisfied with how the explosion was gonna be, they quickly darted from a good enough distance so that they wouldn't get harmed. Itachi watched as she threw a kunai, observing the kunai as it collided with one of the paper bombs, setting off the others as the bridge exploded in a bright red flame,

"It's a very beautiful sight, isn't it?" The girls voice came out in awe, while her brown eyes brightened up with the lighting of the explosion.

"Can I ask you something?" Itachi asked, slowly turning his head getting his eyes off the bridge, having to close his eyes to stop the tears from slipping out another time, though he knew she wouldn't be able to notice due to the rain.

"Ask away." She simply stated in her soft voice, as she continued to observe the bridge, shinobi retreating from it, most injured from the explosion and some not even moving at all.

"Why do you like this? Many people are dying, and they didn't even do anything to you?" His voice hardened a bit, while the expression in his eyes did as well.

She just stared at him, her voice coming out in a slightly sharp tone. "If you were to care about those people, than why did you help me kill them?" Her voice slightly cracked, she stayed quiet, looking anywhere else but Itachi.

"But why did you decide to kill them in the first place?" He asked once more, the sorrowful feeling from earlier when his father first brought him, came back and consumed the young child's body.

The young girl stayed quiet, listening to the rain patter against the ground, as well as she listened to the cracking of the fire from afar. After a moment of being with her thought, she answered. "My father just told me to blow up this bridge, he said it will help a bit in this war." It became quiet after she gave that statement, soon after she then began to walk away from the boy.

She stopped briefly, smiling back at the slightly older boy before speaking in a soft tone. "I'll just say something, me and my family? We are not good people, and probably never will be, but just because of our actions are bad, that doesn't mean we have bad hearts as well."

"What do you mean by that?" He asked, trying to define the purpose of the statement she gave.

"I'm going to refer you as my friend, we probably won't ever meet again, but to tell you the truth. I am apart a family of criminals, so it is clear that my only meaning in life is to become one myself." She didn't say anything after that, silenced by her own thoughts before her voice came out. "Well then, it was nice to meet you. Let us meet again, one day."

"One day." He repeated with a nod, staring at her back as she soon she left, that is until the girl was out of his sight. Itachi sighed, while a sweat drop appeared over his head. I didn't even ask her name...

Turning the other direction he began to walk, his thoughts overcoming him while he searched for his father.

My dad, and my clan... Are part of the police force, and she and her family are criminals...

Looking behind himself, he had noticed his father was not so far away from him. "Hello father."

"Ah, as expected from my son. Even for the age you are now, you are perfectly qualified in becoming a great shinobi."

So is this my meaning in life? Am I supposed to become what my father is, A man that kills others from another village or so, he did say that was war...

But then again, as the girl had said. She and her family are bad people, with good hearts... Does that mean that good people can have bad hearts as well?

"Just like myself, you are going to have the sharingan, but once you get it? You'll hate the cost for obtaining this rare kekkai genkai." Fugaku stated, breaking Itachi from his thoughts.

"What is it?" Itachi asked, his eyes connecting with his fathers crimson ones.

"I'm sorry Itachi, but you'll find out the reason when the time comes." Fugaku stated in a steady tone, while placing a hand on his shoulder and looking out into the body filled field.

It surely wasn't a sight for a child of his age, and yet again he felt the tears beginning to form behind his eyes, slowly trying to find its way out. He closed his eyes again, waiting for it to disappear, once it had he looked upon the hell that was called reality.

"Remember this sight, Itachi. Whatever you do, never forget it."

Itachi gave a nod, listening to that last words that his father had said, before they both started to head back to the hidden leaf village.

"This war may end one day, but when that day comes shinobi won't changed. They'll still seek war and create it, that is the meaning of shinobi."

With war burned into his young eyes, Itachi pushed a side his father last statement, bring up a belief for himself so that he could achieve.

I'm going to become the most powerful shinobi, when that time comes, I will stop this war from happening again and become the first Uchiha hokage of the hidden leaf village.
