Lambent walked lightly through the back-halls that connected to his room. Like Aardy, he had chosen a room close to the library— where there were plenty of residential rooms and areas, some looking like what would've been the servant's quarters in the distant past. He didn't mind the fluorescent lights flickering above him at a weak rate, being close to books was worth the eerie lighting. (He assumed Aardy thought the eerie lighting was a bonus, along with the Library.)

It was around the time after Lunch, the more calm part of the day.

Lambent had a book tucked under his arm, and he'd left his notes (on the book he'd been reading) in his room, so he was taking the short walk back to it.

Inside the room in question– the walls were brightly and immensely painted, with an array of splattered colors all over the room. The bed was a deep blue and green color, with a rose-red carpet on the floor.

There was a desk with a strong lamp plugged into the wall. On the desk was a stack of notebooks and paper on one side and a stack of regular books on the other.

A closet door was at one side of the room, and a shelf, full of more books, was on the opposite.

Ok so he was a bit of a nerd when it came to books.

Lambent moved his way over to the desk— thumbed through some of the notebooks until he found the one he wanted, a yellow spiral one marked with a star—and made his way back into the hall again for the library.

Trailing his hand on the wall as he walked, now with two things tucked under his right arm,  he paused as he came across Tenor going the same way as him, a bit up ahead.

Tenor was an easygoing teen, who was known for his quick sarcastic wit. He also was known to be good with music, and on most days his guitar and singing can be heard throughout the castle (even though Lambent couldn't hear it himself, people've told him it was good).

Lambent sped up to him and tapped him on the shoulder.

Tenor turned around. "Hm? What's up?" He asked.

Lambent read his lips and tapped him twice on the arm.

"Oh, hey Lambent." He said, registering. Since
Tenor was blind and Lambent was deaf, they had made up their own form of communication over the years to close the small barrier between them. Lambent had gotten really good at reading lips too, where Tenor was concerned. They tap each other on the arm, in a way sort of like morse code.

{How's it going?} Lambent coded.

{Good. I'm going to the Library to check and see if Veil is alright.} Tenor responded.

{Is she doing ok?} Lambent didn't know a lot about Veil's ups and downs personally, but he still felt for her whenever he heard from or about her. She was a castle member, and as such a family member. Veil was always nice to him, by his experience with her.

{She just seems off lately. I don't think she's been getting any sleep.}

{I'm sorry to hear it.} Lambent's brow furrowed. {Do you want me to come along, to help?}

{No, she doesn't like talking to a lot of people. I'm sure she already thinks I'm a handful.} Tenor coded, and then smiled in his direction.

{How's it going with you? I bet your still up to being a nerd.}

{I am. And it's going very well, being a full-time nerd, thanks for wondering.} Lambent felt himself laugh. {I was just going to the library to continue my nerd career.}

{I'm glad. They say that it's a tuff business.}
Tenor coded.

{What about you? Still a dork?}
