On our way to the restaurant I couldn't help but bite my stubbed nails. I was nervous and the fact that I couldn't delete it until I got home made it worse. What if he saw it and thought I was a creep, or maybe even a stalker.
We wait for about 15 minutes and then our waiter seats us. I decide to sit by my nana and Papi because I rarely see them. We order our food and begin conversation about school and work and everything. All so boring but ... across the room I see a familiar face, it's the sex god. He is with his family and he looks like a fancy model. I try to avoid eye contact so I finish telling everyone about my friends and how my first day was.
He weighed on my mind throughout the whole time I idlessly spoke, easily feigning enthusiasm.
I excuse myself to use the restroom. feeling incredibly bored from their incredibly null conversation on politics. I make my way out of the booth with ease, still thinking about the Mr Gorgeous Face.
I walked passed his table, I kept my head down low and made sure he couldn't see my heating face. Did he see the picture I tagged him in? Gosh it was a dumb idea. I was so excited at first that I didn't think twice about it. Now I'm suffering the consequences.
I groan as I walked to the very back of the room filled with people at tables, mindlessly chattering.
All of a sudden I feel a tap on my shoulder right as I was about too down the little door to the Girls room. I turn and discover it was the sexy boy.
"Hey, you're Kim right?"
My heart was beating so loud I felt as if the workers in the kitchen could hear it. I tried to think, why is he talking to me? Oh God, he saw the picture, didn't he?!
"Yeah and you are?" I managed to mumble, but it came out less genuine and more rude than I was expecting. The one chance I get to talk to this sexy guy and I sound hella rude. I'm about to apologize when ...
"I'm Caleb, I go to your school ... and I was your man crush Monday" he said with a sly smirk on his face. His plush lips curve into that smirk that seems to make him ten times hotter. My heart jumps out of my chest as I realize our close proximity.
"Oh Kimmy, I-" I heard a frailer voice call from the distance and find out it's my nana. Oh this oughtta be great.
My nana chimed in and greets him. "Are you leaving or about ready to order doll." she asks, as if they are old friends.
He smiled happily, my heart skip a few hundred beats. They each talk as we walk back to our table. I stare and ogle him as he talks to my nana about school. What the heck?
He tells her that he and his family just arrived and are waiting for a table. My nana, being the nice woman that she is invited them to share a table with us, and I can't say no.
His family agrees and I was ready for my head to explode. This is the boy I've been stalking for about two weeks now, and I'm eating dinner with our families. Caleb asks my family typical small talk questions and they respond as if he isn't a stranger. He is good at pretending he knows me so it isn't awkward.
He keeps sending me stared across the table and I try my hardest to ignore them. My face is once again heating up in an awkward tint of pink.
I think he can tell in my facial expression that I'm nervous. He kicks my foot under the table and smirks, knowing his affects on me.
His smile is like god took the most pure white color and splashed it on his teeth, it lights up and entire room. He makes conversation with me asking about my first day and how I like it so far.
"You like school?" He asks while biting his fork. I feel like he is doing his so I pay attention at his mouth, sexually he nibbles on the silver fork.
God he'll be the death of me.
"It's uh...good." I say. This is more awkward than a sheep eating a lion. And that's pretty awkward.
"Any boyfriends?" He casual asks while sipping his soda. I nearly choke on my food. Why does he want to know. My dad unexpectedly turned to me with a serious stare
"N-no!" I hiss.
"You're rather defensive." He replied with a heart stopping smirk. My face heats up once again as I say nothing.
The check comes and we all pay, good byes were made and hugs were given. In that moment I glanced at Caleb, and he was already looking at me.
He opened his arms and gave me a great big hug. He whispered in my ear "You look amazing." and let go, and as I thought this night couldn't get any longer, the awkward car ride home with questions about this boy was just beginning.
Yet I couldn't help but notice the small flutter inside of my heart.
