Ava's POV

Adam made me go to school the next day. He didn't want me to move schools again, he said I needed to face up to my problems instead of run away from them.

I swore at him and he laughed. He threw his arms around me and practically pushed me out of the car.

I repeated all the swear words I knew in my head and walked to my form room.

Demi was stood at the front of the classroom.

She had a white blouse on and a tight knee length skirt. Her makeup was minimal and her hair was in a ponytail.

Her face dropped when she saw me.

Nice way to think of your daughter Demi.

I slung my bag on the table and slouched in a seat next to Kacie.

"Hey." She whispered.

"Hiya."

"Morning everyone. Let's take the register." Demi said.

I slouched in my seat more. Her voice was annoying me.

"Ava...Jonas." She said the word Jonas like she was in pain.

"Yes, Demi." I said sitting up in my chair blinking my eyelashes.

"It's Miss Lovato sweetie." Demi said.

I laughed and slouched back down.

"Ava I don't like your attitude." She said.

"I don't like you." I said.

There were a couple of gasps.

"You don't have to like me sweetie." She said it like it hurt to say.

I stood up and grabbed my bag.

I began to walk to the door. "Stop with the crap, Demi. I did nothing. You did all of it."

"OFFICE NOW!!" She shouted.

I laughed and slammed the classroom door.

I didn't go to the office I just went to my next lesson.

***

I stood at the sign to my dance studio.

Love Like Dance

I was waiting for Kacie because she asked me to. When she arrived she hugged me, I don't think she was expecting me to actually wait for her.

"Are you okay?" She asked, kindly.

I gave her a smile and nodded. I was very glad she didn't push it any further. She did however lean in and pull me in for a hug.

I awkwardly hugged her back and then we walked into the studio.

We worked on our duet. It was exhausting but it was looking amazing.

It was all good until the last move.

She had to pick me up and and I had to do this move.

But we didn't get enough time.

The class was over and I went to sit on the bench and of course Kacie followed.

"You need to trust me for that move." Kacie said, "I will catch you I promise."

We watched the cars drive past.

"I don't trust easily." I said.

"Why?? What happened in your past that was so bad??"

I looked at her. I didn't like this side of Kacie. I hated people asking me, it was none of their business.

"Why should I tell you??"

"Because I care about you." She whispered.

That hit a nerve.

"You've only known me two days and you expect me to spill my whole life story out to you and why I'm the way I am??" I yelled.

Kacie didn't know what to say.

"That's what I thought."

Adams car pulled up and I ran and got in.

"Good dance lesson??" He asked.

I nodded and leant back in my seat.
