CHAPTER THREE - IT'S THEM

Lydia's POV

[[Flashback]]
I woke up in the morning to Scott standing over me with a knife. Immediately I screamed and he held his head, falling to the ground. Kai jolted awake next to me before grabbing me. He started shaking my shoulders to get me to stop screaming.

"Lydia! Stop, Lyds!" He sighed and grabbed my head on both side. I calmed myself down and he looked me with a blank expression.

"He was going to kill me." I said and he shook his head. "Yes he was. You didn't see him. He had a knife. Scott was going to kill me."

At that moment Scott and Katherine came running into the room. "Lydia are you okay? We heard you scream." He looked at me with worry as Katherine stood behind him with raised eyebrows.

I looked back over at Kai and he shared a look with me. "Lydia. Scott wasn't in here with us."

As soon as he said that Theo came into the room with a blonde haired girl that had a scared expression. "Lyds. We have a problem."

I sighed and breathed out before looking back over at Kai. "It was a nightmare? It felt so real." He pulled me into his arms and held me close. Scott went over to Theo and the girl.

"What's wrong? Who's this?" He asked and looked back over at me before leading them out of the room.

"It felt so real." I muttered before closing my eyes. Kai sat there whispering soothing words while I shook silently in his arms.

--------------

[[present time]]

Scott was explaining to the blonde girl about how she shouldn't go running around town about wolves and supernatural beings. I joined along so she would feel comfortable. So now here we are in the hallway, talking about wolves.

"Brooke Madicks?" A man says while walking towards Brooke, Scott, and I. Turns out this might be one of the girls from the list. I haven't asked her what her friends' names were or anything like that, I don't want to come off as creepy.

"Um, It's Maddox, but yes. I'm Brooke." She says with a fake smile. Not going to lie, Brooke kind of reminds me of....well me. At least the me I was before I became close with Scott.

The man hands her an envelope and walks away with a smirk. I stand up from my spot against the wall and move over to Brooke. She opens the envelope with curiosity but drops it as soon as she pulls out some photos. "Oh my god."

I take the photos from her shaking hands and get sick at the sight. The photos were of a boy. He had dark brown hair, almost black. His eyes were shut and he was laying on something wooden. What made me sick was the fact that he was covered in bruises and had blood on his face and smudged in areas of his face. Scott guided Brooke into the hotel room, I walked down the hall after the man. He winks at me as the elevator doors close. Shivers ran down my spine making me turn to go back to the room but I bumped into a girl instead. "Sorry, my friend Brooke said that we should meet her here."

I smile lightly at her while clutching the pictures in my hands to stop the shaking. "Of course. Come on in." I open the door and lead them inside. "She said there was going to be four of you?"

The girl nodded and tucked some hair behind her ear. "Yes. My boyfriend, he's parking the car right now. He should be up in a moment." I walked farther into the living room to where Brooke was.

"Jake." Brooke breathes out and I suck in a sharp breath. "Emma, they have Jake." Brooke says and walks over to the blonde girl. I hand her the photos and this time, I had the shaking hands and an uneasy feeling.

"I'll wait for your boyfriend." I say awkwardly and walk away from the group in the room. Negative thoughts about whether Jake was alive or not we're going through my head. I turned and closed the door behind me while shutting my eyes. As soon as I went to turn forward again, I bumped into another person. Yet again. Making me stumble backwards. "Shit. Sorry."

He reacts quickly by grabbing my waist to keep me from falling or hitting the wall. "This is my bad. I should've waited a second. I'm here for uh, Emma." He laughs awkwardly and I do the same. As I'm about to ask for his name the door opens behind us. Only for it to be none other than Kai.

"Babe, what are you doing?" He says with a sadistic little smirk and emphasis on the 'babe' part. The boy takes his arms off of my waist and scratches the back of his neck. "I'm just busting your balls man."

I groan and shove Kai back into the room. "So...you're Emma's boyfriend. Come on in, she's waiting for you." He comes inside behind me and shuts the door. "Kai, no." I say as he goes to step towards him. Grabbing Kai's arm, I drag him into the living room with the boy following behind us. Kai will end up using magic and hurting himself more than anybody else.

The girl, Emma, I think sees him. She rushes over and starts talking to him in a hushed voice, he then puts his arms on her waist the way he did with me and I look away from them awkwardly. They touched each other delicately, as if they don't want to break the other. Emma and the boy walk over to their friends to look at the photos of Jake.

Kai grabs my arm before starting to whisper yell at me about slutting it up with somebody's boyfriend. "I wasn't doing anything. We bumped into each other and he held me up to keep me from falling. Plus, if i was slutting it up with somebody's boyfriend it shouldn't matter to you. I'm not the one who ended things you douchebag."

The group looked at the photos then at my group of friends. I yanked my arm from Kai's grip then I stepped forward to introduce us. "Hi, my name is Lydia." I then angled myself towards the others that were sitting behind me, pointing to them. "That's Theo, Scott, Stiles, Malachai, Katherine and that is Allison. We just came here from Beacon Hills."

The group looked at us hesitantly. Brooke spoke up almost sounding guilty. "They are the 'pack' I told you about. Theo saved me from the killer last night." The boy who was in the hall looks up and laughs at Brooke's statement. "Hey, I'm serious. Kieran, they are a pack. Theo is a fricken werewolf." The killer? Oh my god, It's actually them? I've been denying it since I first met Brooke. They have this tug on me like I'm drawn to all of them. Does that mean they'll die?

I let out a shaky breath and stumble for words. "Please tell me that you are not them. Please, please, please tell me you aren't them. You don't fit the description of the voices. The voices never lie." Tears come to my eyes at the thought of them being hunted down. "Did your friends die? Nina, Riley, Will, Hudson, and Piper?" The girl with black hair cleared her throat.

"Yes and Rachel." As soon as she said that name I felt my eyes roll back.

Brooke screamed in shock as my vision went blurry and a boy's screams filled my ears.
