New opening act

Maya's P.O.V:

She is dating Niall.

THE INTENSE FEELS!

"I ship it!" I squealed.

"Ship what?" Taryn asked sounding confused.

"You and Niall! I think I shall call the relationship... Niaryn." (A/N: Pronounced Ni- Ryin.)

Taryn faced palmed. "Just as long as my cousin and the media don't find out about it, I'm fine."

I was about to sassily respond with a song quote but my phone went off.

"Hello?"

"Hello Maya, it's Simon."

"Hey Simon."

"Maya, I would like you and your friend Taryn to come to my New York office now."

"I'll get a cab."

"See you soon."

And with that, Simon hung up. I turned to face Taryn.

"Simon wants to see us both at his office."

Taryn looked scared and happy. Saying nothing, we got into a cab. The radio was on and the intro for wrecking ball came on. When it got to the chorus, Taryn and I faced each other and practically screamed the words.

"I CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL! I NEVER HIT SO HARD IN LOVE!"

The taxi driver looked very irritated so we gave him a big tip on the way out.

We walked into the label's office. Marisa, the secretary was typing at her desk.

"We're here to see Simon." I said causally.

She didn't really seem to hear me so I went upstairs with Taryn at my side. We reached Simon's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in." He said in a very posh way.

We walked in slowly.

"Ladies, your probably wondering why I called you here. Well, I heard Taryn sing in the park today and I would to sign her." Taryn's mouth dropped open. "Taryn, if you get signed you will start as an opening act. Maya, you soon will be working on your studio album so if Taryn agrees she will be the opening act for your headline tour." My face resembled Taryn's shocked face now. "Will you be a part of the Syco family?" He asked Taryn.

"Yes." She managed to get out.

"Alright then, go into the room over there and sign these contract papers." Simon handed Taryn a huge stack of papers. She quickly scuttled into the room next door.

"Maya, there is something I would like to address with you. You seem to be getting a lot of hate on twitter because of your Mother, who put out a rather obvious tweet about you." Simon said showing me the computer screen.

@vanessa_hudson: when family betrays you, it hurts.

Underneath was all the hate.

@hudsonfan1: Ewww @maya_angel has no talent compared to Vanessa.

My mom retweeted that one.

@crazyforhudson: I saw maya_angel in Glasgow, what an ugly wannabe.

Well, this hurts.

Simon cleared his throat.

"Taryn has also been getting hate.

@taylorswift13 : I think the new albums theme should be about horrible family.

@swifty509: don't worry Taryn could never be as perfect as you.

@swizzle230: Taryn should go back to the hole where she came from.

OMG. Poor Taryn. Her own cousin called her out. Luckily, this gave me song inspiration.

"Quick Simon, grab me a piece of paper and a pen! I have a new song for the album!"

He quickly passed me the stuff I needed and I began to write.

'She wakes up in the morning,

It's bright out but she is still in the shadow of someone else.

She is an equal or is even better than the shadow but can't step out.

She hides all day with no confidence inside the shadow.

So what if your better?

At least I have confidence and skill.

Appreciate that we were family once and embrace the memories of the past.

Don't look now because you'll just get more upset, but be better for the future.'

Tay came in as I was writing and also was inspired.

"Let me add on!"

'The shadow watches her everywhere,

Still not letting go.

Maybe she will realize that the shadow doesn't like competition, even if there really is none.

Shadow listen up, look into the future.

So what if your better?

At least I have confidence and skill.

Appreciate that we were family once and embrace the memories of the past.

It's not her fault the shadow is around, the shadow just can't thank her for everything she's done. She was good, she was quiet and now she wants to saw a couple of words. It's not always about you, no matter how hard you try.

I looked up from what I had wrote. Taryn and I just wrote a duet.

"So Simon, when can we record this song?"

"Tomorrow."

After leaving the office, Taryn and I had another one of our special moments.

"Tay-Tay bay-bay, you were just signed and we wrote a duet and your my opening act! OMG OMG OMG!

"May-May bay-bay, we just wrote a duet and your getting your own headline tour!"

"AAAAAAAAAH!" We shrieked, basically synchronized.

"Jinx!" We squealed at the same time.

Taryn got a text before she responded. When she looked up from her phone, her face was white.

"Taylor texted me. This is not good."
