The night rode on horse of pure midnight velvet, beckoned by the stars under the glow of a full moon. As the colours of the day rest, Yoorim was at home alone in the living room with a book in hand. Though the blanket of pure black brought serene to the heart and soul, she couldn't be at ease.

Each time her fingers lingered on the corner of the page that indicated a new chapter to come, her gaze would dart on the clock hung on the cream wall. Where is Eomma and Appa? At that moment, her phone rang. The screen revealed 'appa' with a heart emoji.

Yoorim answered the call but was interrupted abruptly. "Yoorim, come to Seoul National University Hospital right now. Your mother is unconscious."

The opened book that she was reading fell shut with a thud as if closing the chapters without any warning. Yoorim felt her heart throbbed, the wisp of air knocking off her lungs. Her mind went on pause and eyes glazed wet with brimming tears. "W-What happened?"

"I'll explain everything to you later, okay? I'll text you the level and emergency room."

Beneath Mr Im's trembling exterior, he swallowed the lump in his throat upon hearing his daughter's frail voice. As much as he was worried, he didn't want her to be distressed. Her teeth tugged on her lower lip as an attempt to control herself before she fell into deep sorrow. "O-Okay.."she muttered softly.

As soon as the call ended, Yoorim held firmly onto her phone and dashed to her room to get her wallet lying unattended on her vanity. She looked sloppy from head to toe but at the moment, her mother was her utmost importance. Once she brought her important belongings with her, she fumbled to slip her feet into her stripe slides as her fingers hastily grabbed the keys hanging on the wall mounted holder.

Yoorim jogged down the hill to the main streets where the hustle and bustle of town never seemed to cease. She caught sight of a cab with green light flashing for vacancy, hence she quickened her pace to flail her arms. Her legs were constantly on the run as if generated by an engine and the only time they could rest was when she finally boarded the cab. However, it got busy once more when she had arrived at Seoul National University Hospital.

She took a glimpse of the details that Mr Im sent through text and followed accordingly by looking at the signs and arrows. The lift halted at the fourth level and as soon as the door slid open on both sides, Yoorim rushed right and straight to the emergency room. From afar, a familiar figure was seen pacing back and forth in front of the emergency room. As the man heard the echoed smacks from her slides, he whipped his head up and spun on his heels.

The tears that glazed her eyes started streaming down her cheeks as soon as Yoorim saw her restless father. The upfront walls that she put up with crumbled down instantly. "A-Appa, w-what happen?"she croaked.

Mr Im held onto her cold arms and heaved a sigh of sorrow. "Your mother fainted on the pavement when we were out just now. It was difficult for her to breathe." His unsettled eyes showed he was perturbed but looking at Yoorim, he felt miserable for not taking good care of her mother. He bit his lower lip to resist the guilt and tears that he had been holding in, rubbing and holding her hands firmly to give her warmth and at least a small fragment of hope.

"Let's hope that she will be fine."

"Yoorim-shi? Wake up. Yoorim-shi?"

Her eyes bulged open and the first thing her gaze fell onto was Suho's concerned face. His eyebrows were furrowed and forehead creased. Panic-stricken by the frantic dream she had that lasted for awhile in her mind, a tear trickled down her cheek. His lips parted, flustered by the tear drop.
