Blooming Period {TAEPYO}

The Mission

"Great you're all moved in." Cara said, walking in. "Are you all here?"

"...At the moment? Yeah. But quick. You can lose us at any word. You have ten seconds." Jiho said, twirling his ring with two fingers.

"How about three? I have a mission for you."

I blinked. "Already? We just moved in."

Cara rolled her eyes. "Yes. Now."

Jaehyo slipped across the room and put his arm around the secretary. "Can't we wait just a few days until the mission? Please? Just until we fit in.."

Cara rolled her eyes and slapped an envelope on Jaehyo's chest. "Nice try, sweetheart. All workers here are trained not to fall for any kind of superpower. By the way this mission is from Mr. Ross himself. Even if you got through me, he'd eventually make you do it. So don't mess it up."

Jaehyo rolled his eyes. "Fine."

Then Cara turned to Jiho. "You the leader?"

He nodded. "Yup."

"Then let me just tell y'all something. You have 'The Swan's Tear' , right?"

"Yeah."

"You stole that. You can steal others." She turned to me and rolled her eyes. "Hey Doctor. Catch." She threw me a scroll. I caught it and opened it.

"....No."

"What is it?" Jihoon asked, peering over my shoulder. He blinked.

"....A Dryad's cape? Are you serious?"

"Not just any Dryad. The Dryad Genieve."

Kyung's eyes widened. "Genieve? She's the head of the Dryads! Do you want us to get killed or something?"

Cara glared. "Look," She said. Her voice was low and slow. "I don't like all of you. Either you take this mission or you fail and get kicked out, I couldn't care less. Just make up your mind and stop bothering me."

We blinked.

We didn't know what to say. Well, the others didn't.

"We'll do it." I said.

They all stared at me.

"Taeil.." Jihoon said quietly.

"Great. I'll tell Mr. Ross." Cara said, jotting it down her pad.

"Whoa whoa wait." Kyung said, holding his hand up. "Taeil. Are you sure this is the right thing to do? You might get hurt. We all might get hurt."

"This could be very dangerous." Ukwon warned.

"I know."

Jaehyo looked at me, his eyes cautious. "Taeil, look at Jiho. Jiho, read him. Is it going to be okay?"

Jiho was looking at me. He was frowning and a drop of sweat fell of his chin.

"...I'm serious." I said.

"He's serious." Jiho decided. Jihoon put his arm around me.

"If you think this is right," He said, his big brown eyes staring into mine. "then I'm with you. I trust you." He looked up. "Let's do this."

"If you ladies are done with your cup of tea," Cara  announced, rolling her eyes. "I'll tell Mr. Ross." And she left, slamming the door behind her.

"...So what now?" Jiho asked.

Kyung looked over.

"We start tomorrow."
