CHAPTER ONE
'This is the last boarding call for all flights to Los Angeles'
My legs where shaking as I boarded the plane. My younger sister, Jessica was waving frantically and my mom was starting to tear up. This was the first time I had ever gone overseas on my own and It was hopefully the last time I would have too.
My dad left my mom three days after my sister was born, he had said it was something about finding his 'passion'. He had ended up going to live in America leaving our small family in Sydney Australia fending for ourselves. Despite everything, he didn't truely leave us. He still sent presents and cards on our birthdays and called us every week to check in but we hadn't seen him since the day he had left. Though, this was all about to change.
My mom didn't have enough money to keep me at the private school I was currently attending and dad refused to let me go to a public school so in the end, they came to the conclusion I would go and live in Los Angeles with dad.
I handed my ticket shakily to the airhostess. One hand stretched out to the woman and the other twirling my chocolate brown hair.
"Matilda Johnson?" She asks. I nod my head and she rips off a peice of my ticket and hands me back the remains.
As I boarded the plane I stared at my ticket, This cannot be right. First class? No way! I followed the directions and finally ended up in what looked like a five star hotel crammed into a cabin.
I took my seat and closed my eyes trying to tell myself everything was going to be okay.
"Hello?" my eyes flutter back to life as I turn my head around to see who is talking to me. It was a young boy, he looked around the same age as me. He had ruffled brown hair and chocolate colored eyes and as our eyes met I couldn't help but notice that he was incredibley.... sexy.
"Ah, hi!" I mumble "I'm Tilly? Are you sitting here?" He laughs and pushes a tuft of hair out of his face.
"Yeah, if that's alright"
"Of cource" We sat in silence looking at eachother for at least 30 seconds before another boy came tumbling up the isle.
"LUKE!" he screeched.
"what do you want Beau?" The boy answered.
"I see you've settled in" The boy named Beau winks at me and punched Luke lightely on the shoulder.
"Shut-up" Luke said shyly his cheeks starting to flush.
"calm down mate! I just wanted to know if you new where Daniel went?"
"As if. No one knows where Daniel is!" both the boys laugh and I sat there awkardly.
"Ah well, I'll speak to you later then" Beau sniggered before strolling back down the isle.
"Sorry about my brother..." Luke mumbled. His eyes drifting to the ground.
"Hey don't worry about it, it was actually kinda funny to watch" I giggled.
"Was it now?" Luke smiled, his eyes quickly meeting with mine once again. We watch eachother carefully as a deep emotion begins to grow inside of me.
Snap out of it Tilly! I told myself. You can't do that. Not now. Luke looked down sheepishly and slipped on his headphones. I sighed and followed his lead.
It was clearly going to be a long 13 hours.
