As the black cloaked man swung his mighty sword to the king of the titans, the three sons of the king readied their weapons and aimed at their father. With a battle cry, the three brothers dashed to the king. The cloaked man heard their battle cry, so he gave way for their assault.
The cloaked man switched places with the god of the sky, which the king of the titans anticipated. The king swung his scythe towards the cloaked man. The cloaked man evaded the attack by bending backwards but the king has plans for a counterattack.
As the cloaked man evaded his attack, the king of the titans summoned a sword and stabbed the cloaked man on his abdomen. The three brothers stopped attacking then watched the scene in shock and anger. With fury in their eyes, they sliced their father viciously into pieces, for the second time.
They slashed their father furiously, as the other gods went to the cloaked man. Gold ichor splattered on the ground, when the cloaked man fell to the ground with his back.
A certain goddess of the moon went immediately to the cloaked man and placed his head on her lap. The cloaked man pulled out the sword in his abdomen and pressed his bleeding wound. The god of the sun sat beside his sister and tried to heal the cloaked man. As the wound sizzle, the hands of the god glowed.
The other gods and goddesses circled the cloaked man. With gold ichor on themselves, The three brothers went to the cloaked man.
The sun god's hands began to fade its glow then turned into fists. Tears started to ran down on his face, as he looked at his hands with anger. The moon goddess caught up on her brother's action and cried.
The gods and goddesses of Olympus caught up on their actions and cried for the dying man in front of them. As they felt sorry, they send their thanks to the cloaked man; by bowing. Tears ran down continuously, as they bow deeply to the man they respected and loved.
"My lords and my ladies, please don't cry." The cloaked man faintly said. "For I have fulfilled my duties as the guardian of Olympus."
"You may have fulfilled your duties as guardian but you have paid the heavy price of the war." A wisdom goddess sobbed. "You sacrificed yourself for the sake of the gods."
"It may have taken my life. At least, I saved everyone from extinction." The cloaked man coughed, then a trail of gold ichor came out of his mouth. "It is time for my departure, my lords and my ladies."
"Don't you dare leave me!" The moon goddesses sobbed. "Don't leave us on our own."
"My moon." The cloaked man smiled. "I may not fulfilled my promise to be with you forever but I have given you another day to see the sun, the moon, and the stars. Forgive me, my moon. For I shall now retire from my duties as your companion, guardian, and adviser."
"No!" The moon goddess slammed her fists to the blood soaked ground. "It's unfair! It's not true! You are not going to leave us!"
"My lords and my ladies, forgive me for I shall now retire from my duties as your guardian, companion, and adviser. Also, forgive me for my mischief that I have brought to you. May lord Chaos bless you and the fates be with you." The cloaked man said to the gods and goddess behind his mistress. He looked back to the crying mood goddess and faintly smiled. "My moon, as I take my last breath, I wished to see you smile for me and keep my death between us gods. I don't want everyone to know our failure, we guardians, to standby with you until the end."
The moon goddess refrained herself from crying and shouting at him, then flashed a smile to fulfill the cloaked man's last wishes. The gods of Olympus cried much harder, as they see the life of the cloaked man fade from his eyes.
"Thank you, my moon." The cloaked man whispered. "I am now at peace."
The cloaked man closed his eyes and smiled widely, as he took his final breath. The moon goddess stopped smiling and started to sob, as she saw the peaceful look of her friend. Fresh hot tears started to ran down continuously from her eyes. With the last strength from containing her emotions, she faced her brother and bawled her emotions out on his brother's shoulder; ranting about the unfairness of life and the selfless of her friend. Her brother could only do but comfort her and say soothing words, as he felt crestfallen for his sister and his best friend.
"His death shall not be in vain."
All of the gods of Olympus looked at the wisdom goddess, with gloomy expressions. Tears could be seen, in each and every god and goddess, in their faces.
"As what he wishes, we shall remember him in our memories and not to spread out their successes." The wisdom goddess walked to the dead man and carried him. "We shall wait for his reincarnation to come again."
"But the poison in the sword could fade any deity to the void or never to reform again." The sun god gloomy said.
"But he is no ordinary deity."
The sun god and the other gods looked at the three ladies behind them. The one who is carrying a golden thread showed them the thread that has intertwined with different colors.
"His adventures shall continue as a demigod. This thread was created by our mother. She told us that a great guardian will raise again and continue his duty." She told everyone then kept the thread in a basket. "It is his decision to become a deity again or be a demigod then reform to continue his will again."
"As what our mother said to us, we must keep his body in the Underworld. Specifically, at the House of Hades." One of the ladies said, the one who has a pair of scissors, as she eyed the god of the Underworld.
"Let me prepare his place." Hades said then disappeared within the shadows.
"We must place him at once." The lord of the sky said. "In honor of his sacrifices, we shall give our symbols on his shroud."
All gods and goddesses nodded then flashed at the palace of Hades. They all lined up on both sides, to watch the wisdom goddess lowered the body on a marble table with flowers and jewels surrounding it. The three ladies pulled out a shroud from their basket of yarns and covered the body with it. Then, every god and goddess blessed the shroud; leaving their symbols on it and gifts of gratitude behind.
The last to leave their symbol is the moon goddess and the sun god. The sun god went first then blessed the shroud, after whispering a short thank you to the body and left a parting gift.
The moon goddess slowly went to the shroud, as tears welled up. She looked at the shroud then blessed it.
"You promised to stay by my side through thick and thin. You said that you would make me happy, yet you are the one that causes pain to me." The moon goddess whispered, as she touched the man's symbol and left a symbolic pin on top of the shroud. "I will remember you until the end. Farewell, my guardian. I will always love you."
She turned around and stood by her brother, with tears falling down from her face. Her brother hugged her to comfort her. Then, all the gods flashed to repair what the war had damaged.
After many millennia passed, the body disappeared; leaving the shroud behind and the contents of the room.
The great guardian has raised.
