How To Save A Life

Chapter 12 :


I woke up at 4:50 . Liam was stil sleeping . He looked so peaceful . I didn't want to wake him up.

"Liam ?" I whispered . I couldn't get out of his grip . His muscular arms where rapped around my waist .

"What time is it ?" He said rubbing his eyes .

"It's almost 5:00 ". My phone started ringing from the bedroom . I got up took it .

"Hello ?"

"Hey sweetie . Where are you ?" It was mom . Oh shit .

"Im at Liam's "

"Oh , honey my boss called me and you dad and I have to leave town. You can stay with Liam or stay with your aunt Katie, If you want but you need to come home and get some clothes , ok ? " .

"Ok mom, I'll stay at Liam's , when are you leaving ? " my aunt Katie was cool, but I rather stay with Liam.

"In one hour . We are already at the airport . Go home , take your clothes and lock the door ok ? "

"Yes mom . Thanks for letting me stay . Have a save flight ".

"Ok honey , oh and I have a package of condoms in my vanity ". What

"What? Ok mom bye " . I hung the phone and went towards Liam in the couch .


"My mom called . My parents are going on a work trip and they told me I could stay here. Only if you let me stay " . He smiled .

"Well , you'll have to pay the rent " he said as he started leaning in . I smiled and kissed him .

"When do they come back ? "

"In a week . So I guess we will be going to college together . Oh , and my mom said I needed to go home to get some clothes ".

"Perfect . Lets go " . The ride was silent but peaceful. We went to my house and I looked for the keys and opened the door . I went upstairs and Liam stayed in the kitchen . I got a suitcase and filled it up with clothes shoes, tooth brush, etc... . I went to my parents' room and got a few condoms . I guess Liam has his own but just in case . I went downstairs with the suitcase and I couldn't find Liam . I went to the backyard and found him sitting by the pool .

" It's kinda hot in here"

"Emm... That pool"

"I know you want jump in" I winked at him

"Can I? "

"No..." He looked at me with a puppy face. " I'm just kidding! Of corse you can"

Suddenly he started taking his clothes off and ended up only in his boxers and jumped in the pool .

"Aren't you coming with me ?"

"I'll think about it " I giggled. "Give me a minute" I went upstairs and got in my swimsuit . It was purple and the top was strapless . I got two towels and went to the pool .

"I brought you a towel " Liam was sitting on the edge of the pool .

"Damn girl " I blushed And giggled .Why is he so sweet and holy God he is only in his boxers .

I started getting in the pool and it was freezing cold . I shivered . Liam came swimming and held my leg .

"What are you doing !"
He pulled my leg and I fell into the water .

"SHIT LIAM ITS FREEZING " it was fucking cold . He was laughing so hard .

"Im sorry I had to " I went swimming towards Liam who though I was going to kill him.Instead I kissed him . He carried me and put my legs around his waist . He carried me to the edge of the pool and sat me without breaking the kiss . Suddenly the bell rang .

"Who's that ?" I said confused

"I ordered pizza " . I stood up and took the towel around my body .

"Take the money from my wallet it is in my pants " I took the money . I opened the door and there stood the pizza guy . It was kinda awkward.

"Here is your pizza " he handed me the box and I took it .

"Damn , are you single ?" I forgot I was still in my bikini. He kept looking at me.

"My boyfriend is in the pool ". I gave him a fake smile , gave him the money and shut the door . I gave Liam the pizza and we sat in the table outdoors . It was really good . Liam said he wanted to watch a movie so we went to the living room .

" Well I have too movies . Titanic and Grown ups 2 ".

"Grown ups " . He said and I placed it in the DVD player . The movie was really funny. I have this really annoying laugh and everytime I laughed Liam said I was crazy. I know. I was going to kiss him but my phone started ringing.

"Fuck" I whispered. And Liam giggled

"I can wait"

What the hell is happening today . It seems to be the call-Emily-so-she-gets-annoyed-day .

"Hello ?"

"EMMYYYYYYY " . I knew this voice . This high pitch voice with an Australian accent.

"VANESSAAAAAAAAAAA " . Liam was so scared . I jumped off his lap and started jumping around the room .

"I knooooww I've missed you sooo much gurl you ma homieee " we just to call each other "homies" . We were friends since 5th grade and got separated last year when she went to Aussie to reunite with her dad since her mom and him got divorced. She was friends with me when I was dating Jake . She was one of the only ones who stayed loyal and didn't fall in Jake's stupid game.

"Gurl I'm in London!"

"Yayyyyy OMG we have to meet come to ma house like right now "

"Do you live in the same place ?"

"Of course you know my mom hates moving "

"OMG how is her and your dad I miss them too "

"I miss your mom too. They are on a business trip "

"Well I'm in the car see ya in five " OMG I'm so exitedd . I hang up and I looked over to Liam who was in total shock .

"My friend Vanessa is coming over if you don't mind . We haven't seen each other since last year and I miss her " . I say with puppy eyes . The bell rang . I swear I run like if Liam was a drug addict that was going to rape me . I opened the door to this beautiful blond - blue eyed perfect girl . I always have envied her because of her eyes .

"GURL " I jumped into her arms and she hugged me.

"Why are you wearing a sweater over a bikini ?"

"Oh I was swimming in the pool and got cold " . We went in the living room .

"And who is this ?" She said referring to my half naked boyfriend sitting on the couch .

"He is my boyfriend ...Liam " . He stood up and kissed Vanessa in the cheek . What a gentlemen .

"Have a seat " we sat on a larger couch next to the one Liam was on .

"So I specially came because I have something to ask you ". I nodded and she continued . "My mom is having a charity event and .." She closed her eyes . "Vanessa no .." I knew she was going to ask me to sing . According to Vanessa's mom Elisabeth I have the most beautiful voice she has ever heard . I used to have a karaoke night with Van every Friday at her house and her mom would always love to hear me . She is one of those people that don't have nothing to do besides doing fancy charity events and fancy parties . They are kinda rich but Vanessa has never bragged about it .

"Pleaaaaseee ?" She begged . The last time I did that it went really well but I didn't want to do it again .

"Alright " I sighed . "But with two conditions . I get so choose the song and Liam has to come " .

"Of course but please sing . My mom is driving me crazy ".

"So when is it ?"

"It's Tommorow at a hotel called Charing Cross . It's really formal because important people are going to be there . If you want we can go shopping for fancy dresses together . Liam could sing too " . She said and sounded so exited .

"Perfect . Liam can we go ?"

"Of course baby . I will try to sing for you . Im going upstairs to the bathroom ,be right back ". As soon as Liam was out of sight we both exploded .

"So tell me everything "

"Well we went to a party yesterday and I got wasted and we did stuff .." .

"He's hot " she said and I blushed .

"He's mine " she bursted into laugher and so did I .

"I have a boyfriend too " . Omg .

"Tell me about him " she used to date one of the players of the school . He was Jake's best friend . He was really nice in difference to Jake .

"His name is Nate . He lives in Aussie . I met him because of my mom ".

"That's a hot name "

"Yes , a hot name for a hot guy " . She smirked . We have always been best friends and our main topic has always been guys .

"Well girl I have to leave love youu homie " we both stood up and walked to the door . Right when I opened the door , Liam came running down the stairs . I hugged Vanessa , Liam said goodbye and she left .

"So what do you want to sing ?" He said sitting next to me in the couch .

"Have you heard this song , it is Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran . I think its called "everything has changed " .

"No "

"Let me look for my computer so you can listen to it and learn it " . I got up and went to the room . The computer was sitting in my desk as always . I took it and went downstairs while looking for the song on iTunes .

"Listen " I sat next to Liam with the computer in my lap .

"I like it " I took my phone and dialed Vanessa's number .

"Hey gurl " I told her that Liam and I where going to sing . We agreed on getting our dresses tommorow after college . She was going to pick me up and we were going to have lunch at the mall . Liam and I went to his flat and I took a bath . I was really tired so I fell asleep .

I woke up tangled in Liam's strong arms .

"Liam babe , wake up we have class " . I whispered in his ear . We both stood up and I opened my suitcase and took some high waisted shorts and a white lace crop top . While Liam took a bath I made some sandwiches . I ate mine and we switched so I could take a bath and Liam could have his breakfast . I finished and put my clothes on .

"Lets go babe ". Liam said and we went to his car. We put loud music on, and Liam was trying to dance.. TRYING. He drove really fast, we were kinda late.

I was going to open the door but Liam opened it for me . We had science at f mind I wairst period. We sat together in science and I reminded Liam that Vanessa was going to pick me up so we could get the dresses for today . He said he had a tux he used for a wedding five moths ago and he was going to try that one .
In art Mrs . Jennie was missing so I called Vanessa.

I had a text: from Vanessa
I'm HEREEE!

"Liam I have to go"

"Okay babe have fun" he kissed me and everyone stared at us.. I didn't mind"

I was almost running down the hallway and Troye grabbed my arm

"Hey hey where are you going?"

"Shopping"

"Oh.."

"Hey do you want to come with me and Liam to a charity thing in a couple of hours?"

"Emm.. Yeah sure where is it?"

"Suit and tie.. I'll pick you up at your house okay?"

"Okay I'll text you the address later"

I ran to the parking lot and there was Vanessa waving at me. Her car was a BMW . No surprise .

"Heyaa gurl . How was college ?"

"Nah it was okay . So where are we going?"

"I found mine already in Nordstrom . I think we should go there "

"Perfect . But you know I don't really have a taste for clothing right ?" She mumbled a yes and we got to Nordstrom . The store seemed very fancy. Van and I kept looking for dresses. Non of this was my style.

"Emily look at this one" It was really pretty strapless short sequin gold dress.

"Maybe" I smiled.

"Look try it on" she gave me the beautiful dress.

I went tried it on and it fitted perfectly.

"Can I see it ?" Vanessa said from outside the dressing room . I got out and I swear Vanessa's jaw was on the floor .


"Holy mother of God Liam is going to have a heart attack when he sees you in this thing . I picked up some jewerly I think you will love " . She handed me a gold ring and some pearl earrings . I have to admit that I do love this dress . It was love at first sight . I put my clothes on and went to pay the dress .

"How much is it ? "

"I already payed it . It is a thank-you gift for today " .

" what?! No I can't let you pay for that "

"I already did" she giggled

"Are you sure?"

"Emily of corse I am! It's a beautiful dress for a beautiful girl like you"

"Awww homiee"

I hugged her soul out of her and we went for lunch at Nandos . After that we went to my house so I could get my makeup ,my curling iron and some shoes.Then she left me at Liam's . I knocked the door and a shirtless Liam opened it .

"Daammmnnn boyyyy " we both laughed and he hugged me . I dropped my bag and the bag with the dress inside and wrapped my arms around his neck .

"Hey cutie . Did you find a dress ?"

"Yep "

"Let me see "

"No no no , it's a surprise " he smiled .

"Did the tuxedo fit ?"

"Yes . Im going to watch a game and then I'm starting to dress , ok ?" I nodded and went in his room .

I took his tuxedo and placed it in the guest room . "your tux is in the guest room you are going to change there " . I locked the door and placed the dress in the bed , along with underware and the curling iron . I took my makeup bag and wet in the bathroom . I took a bath , washed my face and put my underware on . I did my makeup and curled my long hair . Then it was time for the dress . I put it on along with the ring and earrings Vanessa got me and black high heels . Liam knocked the door .

Liam's P.O.

"Baby are you ready ?" She opened the door and.. I was in shock . She looked stunning . The dress was short enough but not that long . It fitted her perfectly .

"Baby you look amazing " she blushed . I love when she blushes , it makes her look even more adorable .


Emily's P.O.V

He liked it . I knew he would but not in that way . We went downstairs to his car and I called Vanessa .

"Hey homie " she said through the phone .

"Hey gurl , we are on our way to the hotel"

"Did Liam liked the dress ?"

"He loved it " Liam looked at me and I giggled .

"As soon as you arrive look for me or my mom "

"Ok perfect see ya "
we shared byes and I almost forgot!

"Liam do you know where Troye lives?"

"Yeah why?"

"We have to pick him up"'

He frowned "Why?"

"Cause he was invited and He is my BEST FRIEND"

"Okay.. I'm only doing this for you"

We arrived to Troye's place. I knocked the door and Liam stayed in the car.

I looked at Liam and knocked again.

"Hey"

"Is Liam in the car?"

"Yeah"

"I can tell he is angry.. Did you fight?"

"No he is just... Being Liam"

We both giggled and Troye jumped in the back seat.

"Hi Liam"

They were so quiet the entire ride. AKWARD

We finally got to the hotel . It was pretty big . I saw a lot of people with fancy clothes and really high heels entering the hotel . We got in the big hall . It was reeeallly large and big . Liam held my hand and we started walking till we found Vanessa talking to her mom .

"Omg Emma . You look amazing ! You have grown so muchh look at youu " her mother gasped . She looked amazing too . The last time I saw her I was 19 and now I'm 20 .

"Thank you so much Elisabeth . You look stunning too " I smiled she is really pretty and Vanessa looks a lot like her .

"This is my boyfriend Liam and my friend Troye " I took Liam's hand and he took Elisabeth's hand in his .

"It's a pleasure to meet you "

"The pleasure is mine . Thanks for coming and sing for us " . Liam smiled to her and I hugged Vanessa .

"So you two are coming with me backstage so I can give you your mics and my mom will introduce you.. Troye you can stay with my friend Tyler he is a really good person... I'll like him" Vanessa said to us.
We went backstage . Elisabeth was backstage too . She told me after our performance she will introduce me to some really important people .

"Good evening everyone and thank you for coming " she said from the stage . "Today we are having some special guests to entertain us . Please welcome Emily Jackson and Liam Payne " we came out with out microphones and a guy sitting in a chair with a guitar was in the back of the stage .

"Good evening . We are really glad to sing for you all . I personally think that this is a great cause . Kids all over the world are dying right now because of hunger , lack of water , medicine etc . I think that the idea of using your free time to help those kids all around the world is a great action . Thanks for coming " they all started clapping including Liam . "This is a song by Taylor swift ft. Ed Sheeran " . The guy with the guitar started playing . I looked at Liam and held the microphone in its stand .

Everyone started clapping . It was amazing .

"Thank you " I said and started walking out stage when I looked back and Liam was at the same spot looking at me . He gestured me to go sit at out table . What ? I got out of the stage and sat down next to Vanessa .

"Hi everyone . So I talked to Elisabeth here , the women behind everything , we agreed that I should sing something for Emily " . He winked at me . What is happening . Vanessa held my hand and smiled . He started singing in his beautiful voice . Troye was behind me with Tyler I guess.. And he was smiling at me.

It's ironic cause he saved mine . I couldn't help the tears anymore . I went backstage and hugged

"That was beautiful "

"It was for you . Vanessa helped me "

"Thanks baby " I love him . He makes me complete . He saved me . He took me out of that dark hole I was living in . He is like an angel sent from above . You know how people say that true beauty hides beneath the surface ? He found the beauty behind my scarred arms and wild hair .
