"Brook! Wake up sweetie!" Adam yelled from the kitchen but when his four year old didn't come crawling down the spiral staircase he got worried and quickly ran up stairs to check on his princess. He found his daughter fast asleep in his bed which was usual. "Brooklyn." Adam gently shook his daughter's shoulder and when that didn't work he picked the sleeping child up and placed a kiss on her forehead. Adam thought of the one trick that would always wake up the stubborn four year old. "Brook. Do you wanna see Aunt Gwen? And Uncle Blake? And Uncle Pharrel?" Her eyes popped open at the thought of seeing her family. Brooklyn's eyes seemed bothered by the light that was shining in through the window and Adam noticed. He gave his daughter multiple kisses all over her face causing Brook to giggle. She fell back into the king sized bed and began jumping and waiting for her father to pick her up. When he did, she tightly wrapped her arms around Adam's neck.
After a minute Adam placed his daughter on the ground after giving Brooklyn one last kiss. "Get dressed then come down to the kitchen." The four year old smiled up at her handsome father. "Okay daddy." She hugged his legs then ran to her own room, closing the door behind her. Adam walked down the stairs and into the huge kitchen, waiting for his princess. The famous singer turned to begin making an easy breakfast that consisted of Honey Nut Cheerios in a plastic bowl for Brook and a bagel with bacon on the side for himself. He stopped when he heard the faint sound of small feet running on the tiled floor of the kitchen. Before she reached him, Adam turned around and picked up Brooklyn, sitting her on the counter then handing her the Cheerios. "Thank you daddy." The child reached to give her father a hug which he returned.
When the father-daughter team reached the set of The Voice they were greeted by Blake Shelton. "Little Levine!" The uncle happily shouted when he saw the four year old run towards him. "Adam." Blake picked up Brooklyn when Adam received a call and excused himself.
"Hey Christina. What's up?" He knew what she wanted because she always called to check on her unknowing daughter. "Have you told her yet? I know she is only four but she is a smart kid." Adam rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling. "I know. She has my brains. And no, I haven't told her yet." Adam smirked at the first part. "Stop procrastinating!" Christina basically yelled causing the pop singer to pull the phone away from his ear. "Shouldn't you be here when and if I tell her? Why does it matter anyways? She is perfectly happy thinking of you as my friend." Adam held his phone back to his ear. "Well I'm not. Unlike you, I don't know what it's like to wake up and know that your child that loves you is in the room next to you. To know that she is safe. To know that she knows who you really are." Christina sounded like she was getting emotional which was not a good sign. Emotional usually meant annoying, at least that's what Adam thought. "Chris, I'm sorry but I have to go. I'll call you later." Adam lied and hung up just as Gwen Stefani walked past him. "Hey. Where's Brook?" Everyone here loves Brooklyn. "She's with Blake, I had to take a phone call." Together, the two singers walk back to where Blake and Brook should have been standing but they weren't their. "Blake!? Where's Brooklyn?" Adam shouted as he began to worry. Gwen giggled and pointed to Adam's coach chair. Blake and Pharrel were spinning the four year old around as she giggled. Adam's favorite sound was his daughter's giggle. "Aunt Gwen!" The child yelled, jumping off the seat and running to Gwen and her father. "You look dizzy." Adam noted when she didn't run in a straight line. "Or did Uncle Blake get you high?" Gwen laughed at Adam's remark about Blake. "I'm fine daddy." He took his daughter from Gwen and jokingly checked her. "Really daddy. I'm good." Brook gave her father a thumbs up. Adam gave in. The four coaches were informed that contestants are arriving so they took their seat. Adam sat Brooklyn on his lap and allowed her to participate. He sat all the way to the left. Gwen was in his right. Pharrel was next to her and Blake was all the way to the right. After each contestant the chairs were turned around again and the next contestant would preform. Brooklyn shocked Adam and the other coaches with her patience. After about five singers, everyone was sent home. On the car ride home, Adam played his own songs that he knew his daughter loved which was all of them. He sang along causing his daughter to smile. "You're a great singer daddy." Brook commented after She Will be Loved finished. "Thanks babe." Adam smiled at the four year old's sweetness. Christina called again. "Hey Christina. Brook is in the car." Adam warned. "Hi Chrissy!" Both singers were quiet leaving the little girl confused. "You guys wanna hang tonight?" That was a signal to Adam that Christina wasn't going to allow him to procrastinate any longer. That or she wanted to see her child. "Please daddy. Can we?" The princess begged her father. "Sure. We're on our way home so why don't you come by the house." Brooklyn cheered but had no idea the real reason Christina called.
When the duo got home, Chris was already there. "Chrissy!" Brook ran and hugged the waiting adult. The four year old was sent upstairs so the pop stars could talk. "I don't think it's a good idea to tell her. At least not yet. What if she is too young to understand? What if she gets mad at us for keeping this from her?" Christina seemed to agree with Adam. "How are we suppose to know how she is going to respond. I don't feel like having Brook hate me." Both parents were worried.
"I think we should wait."
"How long Adam? I don't want to wait much longer!" The yelling caused Brooklyn to come out of her room and look over the balcony. "Daddy are you okay?" She was concerned for her father but not for her mother. "Yeah princess I'm fine. Why don't you come down here and we can watch a movie or something?" Brook squealed with happiness then ran to grab her favorite stuffed bunny and a blanket. She even grabbed her emoji pillow which she often used when she was alone. "I'll get the popcorn." Adam got a bag of cheddar popcorn and filled two metal bowls. "What do you want to watch?" Adam and Christina asked in unison. Brooklyn's eyes widened with realization that she got to pick the movie. "Scooby-Doo! The one in Hawaii." Adam knew his daughter would pick that movie, it is her favorite and Christina could tell that he knew which caused her to feel horrible. She barely knows her own daughter. Brooklyn tried to stay awake but she couldn't help falling asleep in her father's warm embrace.
