Sydney usually hated it when someone new came. They were usually some freak and everyone wanted to get to know them and swarm around them like a crowd of hungry vampires until about two days later then no one cares.

"Did you hear?" Adison asked Sydney.

     "Hear what?" Sydney wondered.

"There's a new boy here today." Adi squealed with delight. Sydney couldn't possibly fathom why that would make her happy.

Sydney rolled her eyes and started to walk away when Adi caught up to her. "No no no! This one isn't like all the other fails our school brought. He's cute, mysterious, funny. Pretty much everything you're looking for."

"You know I'm not looking for anyone any time soon." Sydney had to admit she was a little bothered by her best friends comment. After Jackson died last Summer she really wasn't looking for any type of physical contact from any other guy. When your boyfriend dies you don't just get over it in a few months. She really needed time to heal.

"I-I know, I'm sorry. I just thought maybe you would want to open up. It's been 6 months already. But I get it, okay. Hey, I'll see ya at lunch?"

Sydney nodded her head, glad to go to her next class away from Adison. And that was saying something. They had been joined at the hip since age ten. Seven years of friendship is pretty dang important if you asked her.

She had Reading with Mrs. Clearwater. Sydney came in to find a boy in her seat. A fairly got boy she must say. If this was the new guy-no she promised herself not to put herself in the danger zone of another guy. What if he died too? She was over thinking things.

"I believe you're in my seat." Sydney said casually.

"Sydney! Let's be a little polite to our new student and you can let him have your seat. Sit over here by Billy." Mrs. Clearwater said in a panicked voice. Sydney turns to violence a lot.

"Yah Syd. Think about the new kid." He said cockily. Sydney made a sour face. Kind of a 'you're dead' look. He just smirked.

Why do guys smirk? Sydney pondered throughout her head.

She tried to smirk but just epically failed. She hoped no one saw.

As she trudged out of the classroom she followed the boy who stole her seat.

"Excuse me but I jut have to say you were a complete jerk in there. You got me stuck behind Billy freaking Whitesel, the weirdest and most disgusting kid in school. Couldn't you have picked that seat instead of mine?"

"You talk a lot. Anyways, those are the exact reasons I didn't pick that seat." The New Boy replied. Yet again cockily.

"Can you just tell me your name then?" Sydney asked impatiently.

"Just call me New Boy. Seems that's what everyone else want's to call me."

Sydney couldn't deny she did feel a little guilty for picking on him while it's only his first day. Shouldn't she wait until he had time to settle into a new school maybe make some friends?

Then again, he stole her seat in Reading...No guilt here.

"Whatever you say, New Boy." Sydney said and walked to her next class.

So this is a new story that I really just want to focus on for right now and put my other books on hold with the exception of girl code. Tell me if you like it even though this will either get 0 or 1,000,000 reads.
