Sixth Year

Laughter filled the air where the small group was sat under a large oak tree on the edge of the black lake. The group was made up of Amy, Scorpius, Teddy, Victoire, and Newt.

Newt sat in the one spot of light shining through the branches. His dirty blonde hair looked a lot lighter in the sunlight, and his piercing green eyes hidden due to his closed eyes. His thin arms were holding him up at his sides while he grinned at his friends.

Victoire sat hidden in the shade of the tree, claiming she didn't want to burn her porcelain skin any further. Her warm green eyes sparkled with laughter. Her thin ankles were crossed and her legs stretched over so that her feet rested on Scorpius' lap.

Scorpius was laid back on the grass with his eyes shut and his head resting on his book bag. His pale hair sat in a mess of waves upon his head and his mouth was stretched into a toothy grin.

Amy was sat with her right hand interlinked with her twin's left hand from her spot on the grass in which she was sat with her pegs very elegantly crosses so that she could rest her open book against the place where her calves touched. Her white hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail with a few loose strands falling in her face. Her piercing pale blue eyes bore into the face of Teddy Lupin, glistening with both joy and adoration at the boy.

The reason for their laughter was, in fact, Teddy himself. In a mess of long limbs and a flurry of blue hair, he had tripped over a tree root protruding from the ground as he had made his way over to the group. He regained his balance and plopped down beside Amy, his book bag being plopped down in front of him as he surveyed his friends.

Teddy also had a toothy grin plastered on his face, slightly lopsided, but charming nonetheless. His blue hair caught the light coming through the tree branches, revealing the different shades hidden amongst his slightly overgrown mop of hair. His violet eyes shone with his laughter as he let himself fall sideways until his head was resting on Amy's thigh.

The group looked a mess to other students. The metamorphmagus boy almost crushing one of the Malfoy twins, a non-redheaded Weasley laughing in the shadows, and the other Malfoy twin observing his Ravenclaw friend with a curious stare as he nearly choked on his own saliva due to large bouts of laughter.

They were a mess, but the were a perfect mess.

Amalthea mentally thanked some heavenly being when she noticed her brother staring at Newt. She leaned over carefully and nudged his hand towards himself with her own clasped within it. "You like him, don't you?"

"I'm not gay, Thea!," was the boy's embarrassed response, his pallid cheeks filling with colour at his sister's suggestion.

"It's alright if yo are, S," said Amy. "And it's alright if you're not. I just thought... never mind."

Scorpius sighed, his eyes glancing over at Newt before looking back into his sister's eyes, which were identical to his in colour. "I love you."

"I love you, too," was Amalthea's reply. The moment she pronounced the final syllable, an arm was thrown around her shoulders.

"Who does Amy love?," asked Teddy in the boisterous manner he always spoke when teasing his friends.

"Not you, that's for sure," Amy said, throwing his arm off of her. It was a complete lie. The only person she loved more than Teddy was her brother.

When they had first met, Edward Lupin had frustrated Amalthea endlessly. He was loud and rather annoying. Then puberty hit them all like a freight train, Teddy most of all. By fourth year, Amy was infatuated.
