I followed Luke through the Ewok village to a secluded hanging bridge. There he spoke the sentence that bound us forever. I was shocked, but since what had happened four years ago, when  I was nineteen, I had learned to expect the unimaginable to happen. After the discovery, after the Empire was destroyed, I told Han. He didn't mind. "You're still my favourite. It doesn't matter who your parents are, I'll love you just the same." he whispered, running his fingers through my hair. I kissed him, and the next few moments made me feel so much better. I felt like I had no loss haunting me, like I could take on a galaxy. It was a long time before I felt that way again.

Rey was sitting in Leia's office again, listening to a second story. "Han was right. It doesn't matter who your parents are. You're an amazing person no matter what." she said suddenly. "Thank you so much, Rey, not many people have told me that, not since..." Leia broke off, and launched into another story.
