Without Draco [Harry Potter]

Sixth Year

The Task

The Dark Lord paced as he waited for his servant. As he heard the door open, he looked up to see Severus Snape.

"Ah, Severus. Just who I wanted to see. Sit down."

The Dark Lord's chilling voice spread shivers down Snape's spine and he muttered "Yes, my Lord."

Lord Voldemort walked around the room as he spoke. "I have a problem. Albus Dumbledore. If I am to conquer the Wizarding World, he must be dead. He thinks he is safe at his little school. Little does he know, you're there working for me."

Snape took a breath, realizing what his words meant. "And...what would you like me to do, my Lord?" he spoke quietly.

Lord Voldemort stopped walking, faced Snape, and said "Well, seeing as you're the only insider I have, I'll need you to sneak some Death Eaters into the castle and ambush Dumbledore. This must be done by the end of the year, or you'll be killed. Understood?" hissed the Dark Lord."

"Yes."

The Curse and the Poison

Snape successfully did it. He had killed Albus Dumbledore.

He rushed out of the castle with the other Death Eaters. They decided to set Hagrid's hut on fire. The fun lasted a while, seeing as the giant oaf couldn't conjure up an ounce of water.

"Stupefy!"

Snape turned around immediately and raised his wand. Harry attempted to cast the Cruciatus curse, but Snaps blocked if and knocked Harry off his feet.

Harry once again attempted the curse but was blocked by Snape. "No Unforgivable Curses from you, Potter! You haven't got the nerve or the ability -"

"Incarc - " yelled Harry which was deflected as well. "Fight back! Fight back, you cowardly -"

Snape interrupted Harry's screaming. "Coward, did you call me, Potter? Your father would never attack me unless it was four on one, what would you call him, I wonder?" shouted Snape.

"Stupe - "

"Blocked again and again and again until you learn to keep your mouth shut and your mind closed, Potter!" sneered Snape. He turned to the Death Eater behind him and shouted "Now come! It is time to be gone, before the Ministry turns up."

Harry tried to curse Snape again, but the Death Eater from before screamed "Crucio!" and Harry fell to the ground, writhing in pain.

Snape yelled "No! Have you forgotten our orders? Potter belongs to the Dark Lord - we are to leave him! Go! Go!" The rest of the Death Eaters scurried off.

Harry let out a roar of rage and said "Sectum - "

Yet another time this was blocked by Snape. "No, Potter! You dare use my own spells against me, Potter? It was I who invented them - I, the Half-Blood Prince! And you'd turn my inventions on me, like your filthy father, would you? I don't think so!"

Harry felt only rage. "Kill me then," he panted. "Kill me like you killed him, you coward - "

"DON'T CALL ME A COWARD!" screamed Snape. He cast a spell that seemed to whip Harry across the face and slam him backwards.

Suddenly Buckbeak flew at Snape, slashing at him with razor sharp claws. As Harry attempted to get up, reaching for his wand, Snape ran and disapparated. But not before Harry heard the words carried through the night air.

"I had to! I had no choice, or he would've killed me!"

Won-Won

Everyone was upset to hear that Dumbledore, the great Albus Dumbledore was dead. Upset most of all was Harry, who wished he could've done something. But the headmaster had simply kept him out of harm's way, freezing him in hiding.

At the funeral, everyone was sobbing. Ron sat with Harry and Hermione, Lavender Brown weeping on his shoulder. "Oh, Won-Won! This is just horrible!"

This continued for the rest of the funeral. Throughout the year, Ron had been getting tired of Lavender and how clingy she was, but didn't know how to break up with her. He just stuck around with her because of that. He'd never broken up with a girl before and didn't want or hurt her feelings. So Ron Weasley was sitting with an annoying crying girl on his shoulder, wishing it could be someone else.

6/7! Yay, only one left to go! So basically since Ron was never poisoned (Snape would never make such a stupid mistake, like that and cursing Katie Bell), he never accidentally broke up with Lavender. And Snape was given the task to kill Dumbledore since Draco wasn't there to do it. Hope you enjoyed! Don't forget to vote and comment :)
