Chapter Five

Becca's POV

   I stared at Sadie. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "That doesn't matter. What matters is that you will not be Ldshadowlady's daughter for long." Sadie said. I laughed. "Yeah. You just admitted that you watch Ldshadowlady." I said. "Forget it Becca. Once I'm finished with you, Lizzie might as well give you back to the girls' home. "You do watch Ldshadowlady." I said laughing. Sadie tried to pin me up against the wall but I grabbed her arm. "One thing you don't know about me. I'm a fighter." I said. I let go of Sadie and walked into school. I heard some people clap. Anna ran up to me. "How did you stop her that easily?" She asked. "All that anger towards her made me stronger. And also, I took karate as a kid. I was the toughest one in my group." I said. "I knew there was a reason." Anna said. "For what?"I asked. "I knew I made the right choice for my best friend." Anna said.

   After school, I waited for Lizzie to pick me up. Anna was with me. Soon Lizzie showed up. "Hey. You must be Lizzie." Anna said. "I sure am." Lizzie said. "Can we just get home?" I asked. "Sure thing." Lizzie said. "Hey. I'm having a sleepover tonight. Can Becca come?" Anna asked. "Sure." Lizzie said. "Come on Becca."

Lizzie's POV

  I picked Becca up from school. We decided to have a girls day. I texted Joel to tell him we would be home late. He replied saying that he'll be fine. We decided to go to the mall. I went straight to an ear piercing place. "Hey Becca. Have you ever wanted to get your ears pierced?" I asked. "Yeah." Becca said. "Well today is your lucky day." I said. We went inside and Becca chose a pair of earrings that she liked. Then we told the lady. She pierced Becca's ears and I payed and we left. Becca was grinning. "Thanks Lizzie." She said. "No problem." I said. Then we went to get our nails done. I was having so much fun with Becca. 

Joel's POV

   I was at home setting up a little surprise for Lizzie for our anniversary. I had asked Becca and her friend to distract Lizzie until I was done. I was going to do something I have been wanting to do for awhile and adopting Becca gave me the perfect opportunity. I was going to propose to her. I checked on supper. I had made a lasagna and garlic bread. I even got balloons and streamers and decorated the place. Lizzie was going to be so happy. I placed supper on a card table, dimmed the lights and lit candles. I knew it was time. I quickly texted Becca. Soon I got a text from Lizzie saying she had to drop Becca off at her friend's house and she'll be home. I replied back saying okay. Then I ran upstairs to grab the ring and put on a suit.

  Lizzie's car pulled in the driveway about twenty minutes later. I waited. Lizzie opened the door and saw everything. "Happy anniversary." I said. I led her into the dining room. "This is amazing Joel." Lizzie said. "Thanks. But I'm not through." I said. I sat her down and we ate supper. After supper, I did the dishes and pulled Lizzie into the living room. I grabbed her hand. "Lizzie. You and I have been together for a few years now and I know how much I love you." I began. I pulled out the box and got down on one knee. I flipped open the box. Lizzie placed her hand over her mouth. "Lizzie, will you marry me?" 

A/N Hey guys. So I know it's early in the story but I wanted to have Joel ask Lizzie soon so I had him do it now. Lizzie's answer will be in the next chapter. And also I'm thinking Becca should turn eight soon in the story. BYEEEE!!!!!
