Chapter six

Joel's POV

  I looked at Lizzie. She was crying. "Yes." She managed to say after awhile. I stood up and slipped the ring on her finger. I pulled her into a hug and wouldn't let go. Lizzie didn't seem to mind. I kissed her for a while. "I love you." Lizzie whispered in my ear when we finally stopped kissing. "Love you too." I said. We spent the rest of the night watching movies. It was around midnight when I looked over at Lizzie. She was asleep with her head on my shoulder. I turned the TV off and fell asleep. When I got up the next morning, I had another idea. "We should throw Becca a surprise party for her birthday." I said. Lizzie sat up. "That's a great idea." She said. 

Anna's POV (Didn't see that coming, did you?)

   I woke up early. Becca and my friends were still asleep. Becca got up. "I'll give you some of my clothes to wear to school." I said. "Okay." Becca said. My mom came upstairs. "Breakfast is on the table." She said. "Thanks mom." I said. Becca headed to my bathroom to get dressed. My phone buzzed. It was from Joel. His text read that on Saturday he and Lizzie were throwing Becca a surprise party. I told him that was my birthday too. Becca came out and I put my phone away. After eating breakfast, Becca and I headed off to school ahead of my other friends.

Lucas' POV (didn't expect that, huh?)

   I walked to my school with my book bag. As I was walking onto school grounds, I saw two girls running away from someone. I stopped. A girl with red hair grabbed one of the girls, pinned her to the wall and cut her. Her friend grabbed for the girl but she kicked her. I walked over there. "Let go of her." I said. After about five minutes of staring at me, she let go and the girl fell to the ground. The one girl kicked her in the face and left. I ran to the girl on the ground. She was bleeding. I helped her up and took her to the nurse.

Becca's POV

   I was in the nurse's office. I was bleeding a lot. My arm had a deep cut and I had a bloody nose. I looked at the boy in the office. His blonde hair was cut short and his blue eyes sparkled in the light. Joel showed up ten minutes later. "I heard what happened." He said. The nurse talked to him, saying that I might need stitches. Joel nodded and took me to the doctor. Sure enough, I needed stitches in my arm. After that was done, Joel took me back to school.

Lucas' POV

  I was in the middle of math class when the girl walked in. I noticed her arm was bandaged. The teacher took one look at her bandaged arm and excused her from homework. She sat down next to me. 

  At the end of the day, I gathered my stuff. The girl walked over to me. "Hey. Thanks for taking me to the nurse." She said. "No problem." I said. "I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Becca." She said. "I'm Lucas." I said. I dropped one of my books. I reached down to grab it just as Becca did. As we reached for it, our hands touched. Becca looked up at me. "I think this is yours." She said. Just then, her phone rang. "One sec." She said. After awhile, Becca hung up the phone. "I have to stay at a friend's house." She said. "Okay. I'll walk with you." I said. "You can if want." Becca said. We headed outside. Her friend was waiting. I recognized her. She was the one who had gotten kicked.

   Becca and her friend were chatting about a youtuber named Ldshadowlady. "I've heard of Ldshadowlady." I said. "You have?" Becca asked. "Yeah. I've seen her videos. That's why your name sounded familiar and why Joel took you to the doctor." I said. Becca blushed. "Don't be embarrassed." I said. Becca gave me a huge hug. "Thanks again Lucas. You're a great friend." She said. When she let go, she was embarrassed. We reached my house. "Bye girls." I said. Becca gave me one last hug and this time I didn't hesitate. When she let go of me, I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. Becca smiled. "See you in school tomorrow." I said. When she turned away, I cheered. It was my first day and already, I might have a girlfriend.
